Damn, these guys are busy. I really liked their album last year, feel like it flew under the radar because blackgaze.
| | | this band thoroughly wipes the floor with Deafheaven, dont @ me
| | | The band tag is wrong lol
| | | Damn it
| | | Damn, I've given these guys three 4/5 ratings and haven't heard anything else by them. That's... weird.
| | | This band hasn't done anything interesting since 2012 lmao
Blackgaze is dead, folks
| | | it's not dead by far, it's just an off-year so far; 2019 had a lot of good albums. Sadness alone are pushing the genre in an interesting way, and it's seeped its way into being a general modern bm influence so there's lots of post-metal-y bm bc of it which is NEAT STFU PIKA U POOOZER
| | | These dudes pump out music like a Pez dispenser.
| | | last good album by these guys was 'only the ocean knows'
| | | sadness more like crapness am i rite lmao
| | | Their last album was more interesting than anything they did in the past, pika.
| | | Whose? AAFCC?
I haven't actually heard that one. I've heard everything up till September but didn't like anything post Ocean Knows.
| | | on 'only the ocean knows' (and 'everything', but it's not quite as good) the bass was basically the driving force behind the bands entire sense of melody and it totally set the band apart. they've more or less completely abandoned that and because of that i've totally lost interest - there's so many other bands doing this sound.
like seriously, listen to 'this garden these trees' and tell me another band doing that sound. i have no idea why they strayed from it, it was gold.
| | | I never pinpointed that shift, but you've got a great point and now I'm going to have to go back and listen and disappoint myself with my high rating from last year lmao
| | | "This band hasn't done anything interesting since 2012 lmao"
The albums from 2018, 2015 and 2013 are their best so far tho
