I remember checking the news in Pitchfork this morning and found this as the breaking news. I literally stopped breathing for a brief moment that a stunning performer like him has passed away. RIP Riley.

never listened to them but the outpouring condolences coming from everybody in the scene really indicates that this guy was an absolute sweetheart and probably one of the few genuinely amazing people in music to be around

coincidentally just started listening to Power Trip this week. Hardly ever heard about them somehow, had no idea how important they were and how many people knew and loved this dude. Massively sad that they lost their friend, but also because they probably lost their careers to some extent. Hopefully the other dudes find a good way to ride this out, but seems unlikely they would just replace Riley and keep the band going.

Band won't sound the same without him

Fucking gutted by this. Easily some of the best shows I've been to; Riley really knew how to work the crowd, and his charisma, energy, and stage presence made him a perfect frontman for Power Trip.

I'm not even sure the band would continue without him. Did they even finish recording their new record?

HUGE loss, I was convinced these guys were gonna be huge when their next fire album was gonna come out, big part of that was Riley's attitude and crazy vocals.

Dude was great live, sad to hear this. Seemed like a down to earth dude in interviews as well, watched that kid from littlepunkpeople interview him a ways back and he was super cool.

Incredibly sad news that still makes me teary just reading about it.

Listening to their Live in Seattle album has helped me cope with this loss. You get a sense of his natural energy and raw talent. This is a huge blow for hardcore and metal.

This really broke me when I found out. Everyone I've seen say something about this has been abnormally bummed out its very strange. His death has affected so many people very hard. I cried when I heard. He was such a great person. Its unfair. RIP Riley
