Nice touches here and there. This is going to be either a huge success of an album, or lukewarm experimentation.

Loved it. This band literally changed their sound every record and it’s worked for them so far
|
| |
Song is boring. Looks like this will be a first disappointing Leprous album for me.
|
| |
if this is nothing more than an Einar solo project, I'm okay with that. Really enjoyed this one.
|
| |
He should've just gone solo and released this as a solo album. I want a frigging Leprous album, not an Einar album.
|
| |
Leprous goes Bjork
Song is boring [2], but his voice is really something
|
| |
... What about this exactly makes you think of Björk?
I imagine the song will work well as a refresher on the record, but it's nothing spectacular on its own (except for the vocals of course).
|
| |
It was basically the first thing that came to mind when I started listening to the song
|
| |
Imagine seeing this live: Einar singing his heart out and the rest of the band are just like, "k, cool"
|
| |
It could work if they play in small, more intimate places. But I understand what you're saying, it looks like this album will be Einar & The Leprous.
|
| |
Yeah, this does nothing for me.. I started listening to Leprous for their mix between progmetal and rock with crazy instruments.. now that they are more atmospheric poprock, I just can't care about their music anymore - not my style sadly
|
| |
You should edit that description, there are basically no electronics in this song except for the intro... Might be true for the whole record but it is kinda unfitting for this news-article. The song sounds super organic, I love it!
|
| |
I hate this with a strong burning passion.
|
| |
They are becoming more KScope than Inside Out, that's all
|
| |
lowkey gonna be album of the year
|
| |
This was honestly much better than the last single if mainly because the runtime worked in the band's favor this time around.
|
| |
Unlike Steven Wilson, Leprous clearly fucking blow at working their prog background into a pop song. Lame track, but godspeed, they delivered several prog masterpieces already, that will last me a while.
|
| |
Flirting more and more with just straight pop, but don’t hate it
|
| |
hmmm, they changed their sound to Pop-music...
|
| |
Bilateral was mind blowing. Haven't liked them since.
|
| |
The rest of the band's skill tossed to the wayside again... Einar does have awesome vocals, but yea, it does sound like his solo-project now.
|
| |
I kinda enjoyed it but it annoyed me to no end that he went straight for the headvoice falcetto again and again the moment the band really kicked in. Could've been so much better without that.
|
| |
Excellent entry for ESC 2020, Norway.
|
| |
love the song build-up
|
| |
If Leprous entered Eurovision that would be pretty cool.
|
| |
Song is great, really digging it

Just a freaking great pop song.
|
| |
This is trash. So is this band.
One good record.

More like 5 good records. And a 6th one is coming
|
| |
I couldn't agree more with people wishing this was a solo project. Really not good imo at all
|
| |
> One good record.
retarded take
> He should've just gone solo and released this as a solo album. I want a frigging Leprous album, not an Einar album.
yeah this new direction blows. give me coal/congregation era leprous please
|
| |
The Congregation was the best album these guys ever made. It combined the raw/heavy with the more atmospheric/experimental direction and it was truly cohesive.
I don't think these new songs sound bad, but they really have no trace of Leprous in them. I thought Golden Prayers was a signal of a return to Congregation-era sound, but eh. They still play the hits live.
|
| |
2/2 good songs at this point < 3 Album is gonna be solid, I can feel it
|
| |
Golden Prayers is underrated
I liked the first single more but it's alright. Dunno how i'll feel about an entire album in this vein though
