thank god, the mixing in the original version was awful
| |
I swore Kris produced the first record.
| |
It's got a little more oomph to it but it still sounds like acceptance speech. Probably would've been better to re-record it.
| |
The title track sounds so much better holy shit
| |
bitches beat senses fail to the punch
| |
Both lost to touche
| |
okay but uhh... that's fair.
| |
Holy moly. they fixed it. the guitars are so much louder and better sounding and Tilians voice is WAY less overproduced. this rulessssss
| |
Tilian was on acceptance speech?
| |
It was his first album with them yea
| |
The ending to Doom & Gloom tho, that shit goes so hard now
| |
This all sounds so much better than it did. Turn Off The Lights has been done its due justice.
| |
like in some ways i kind of like how tilian sounds like a robot on the OG one cuz it fits thematically but holy shit the guitars and vocals sound so colorful and lively now. I already loved AS but shit this is way better
| |
Thank god
| |
Interesting
| |
i'm so hype, this is crazy.
| |
HOLY CRAP
| |
Definitely sounds better, although I never hated the original's production quality to the point where I felt like a remaster was required. What's even more impressive is that Tilian has confirmed that we'll get more singles this year leading up to their 9th album in 2020. This band has consistently shat out gold almost annually now for 15 years. It's nuts.
| |
Yeah this definitely sounds better, I still wouldn't rate it higher than the original. Songwriting was the weakest point here, pretty bland for DGD's standards.
| |
Y’all are dumb this sounds way better than the original and this is easily their best tilian album.
| |
Carve sounds brutal now, Death of the Robot didn’t need much improving but damn does it sound amazing now. can only pray we get a vinyl release
| |
yeah Carve rips. I'd say this or Mothership is the best out of the Tilian era
| |
a fair bit better than original mix imo
| |
The album sounds massive now
Great stuff
| |
Yeah the instrumentals are hugely heightened in the mix, wow it has such a better punch, also the bass is so clear, I love it
| |
Yes, this might be their best produced album now
Gotta buy that shit
| |
it was the best til album before this was released so now it's just like >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> everything else.
so good
| |
The Grandmothership?
| |
I didn't even remember Doom and Gloom going that hard at the end omg. Tilian sounds so much better everywhere. Hard to believe it's been 6 years since this dropped and my DGD obsession began and now we have this.
| |
it's really just crazy to me how natural his voice sounds now...i liked the way he sounded on the og version, but here he's just elevated so much
| |
Remaster is amazing.
sad they got rid of the "hush now don't you cryyyyy" at the beginning of Death Of the Robot With Human Hair. :[
| |
what a great release. also all the instrumentals have been so good too
| |
>and Tilians voice is WAY less overproduced
I am so happy. I like Tillian, but some producers LOVE to fuck with his voice and make it too squeaky-clean.
I also had no idea they were releasing all albums' instrumentals! I've always hoped they would. Their work is so typically dominated in the mix by trading off vocals that I could never 100% focus on the complex instrumentation as much as I wanted. This'll provide a nice alternative listen for their work. Great news.
| |
Never had a problem with the original release but holy shit this remaster is amazing.
| |
That video where walt Jr. mixes Acceptance Speech is still the funniest thing
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Lt5b7jx18QY
| |
lol
| |
I've never listened to this album for some reason, despite being a fan of their 3 most recent records. Maybe this'll give me the push to finally spin it.
| |
it actually sounds like tilian re-tracked the vocals. i know that isn't the case, but it's that level of difference.
| |
strawberry swisher pt. 3 is even better now nice
| |
New version of Honey Revenge is so fucking good.
| |
Every song is sounding killer. This remaster is everything. Instrumentals are pretty dope too
| |
The album sounds MASSIVE
| |
yeah rules
| |
Remaster... and then I have to stream it? Seems counterproductive.
| |
Can’t wait for the DBM/DBM II instrumentals
| |
Remaster of DBM I would be fantastic. I personally think DBM II is perfection as is.
Edit: oops, misread that. Lol. Statement stands, but yeah instrumental for Happiness would be amazing too.
| |
A remaster for DBM would be amazing. The album sounds so muffled, but it's really a gem. Wishful thinking
