holy fuck this is bad.
| |
Worst track these guys have ever produced imo
| |
This fucking sucks
| |
wOw that was horrible
| |
Too bad the lyrics suck, because honestly the music is good and the melody is nice.
| |
holy heck this is bad
| |
“h3ll yeH iM tha awkwardest rawr XD”
| |
Wow...
Haven't checked the song, but just by reading this news article, this is just waaaaaaay too Spinal Tap-ish for everyone's comfort.
I wish there was a feature that lets you tag Sputnik users in your comments...
| |
Lyrics are trash, but damn that music is good!! Low expectations on this new record though for sure.
| |
sOaKeD
| |
I think I like this...
The production is excellent anyway, much better than Mantra. Even if I end up feeling this is a misfire there is at least some life to it. Mantra was just stale
| |
lyrics are awful and melody is 100% oasis
| |
Shit.
| |
based on the comments here you'd think this was a 1.0, but tbh this could've been a lot worse
| |
Eh it’s a 1.5 easily
| |
Song is disposable, video is worth it just for Dani Filth eating cereal in full corpsepaint
| |
main riff sounds like something an 8th grader would play at guitar center
| |
This exists
| |
Couldn’t actually force myself to sit through it
| |
I got bounce
| |
The lyrics ruin it. It's not awful but not good either...
| |
This song is half really shit and half kind of interesting for this group, idk what to think.
Better than Mantra tho
| |
That vocal flow at the beginning was so fucking atrocious. Song as a whole is pretty damn awful.
| |
alamo was spot on haha cannot unhear
| |
That zoom at 3m33s is pretty intense.
| |
Sorry hawks but this is horrible
| |
that feat was pointless and those lyrics are like if taylor swift did metal
| |
so bad that even mantra fucking beats the shit out of it
| |
like Thats the Spirit, it'll probably grow on me because I love bmth.
it just might take a few years
| |
I like it, but hey that's why I'm a meme.
| |
I like it.
Better than Mantra.
| |
brettgoespunk
| |
God why what happened
| |
That bridge is horrible wtf. Other than that, it's a fairly standard bmth song: decent music with a nice melody, and garbage lyrics.
| |
I like BMTH — I think Sempiternal is a damn near masterpiece— but I have a really bad feeling about this album. Save for a few awesome songs, TTS was pretty lackluster. You can tell/see how they’re sorta selling out and trying to appeal to a more mainstream aud. It’s kinda gross tbh.
| |
Honestly the song isn’t that bad. At LEAST it rocks out a little. Better than Mantra. But man I hope the rest of the album is better, yikes.
| |
They kinda stole a music idea I've wanted to do for years with Dani's parts. But Dani Filth is way better than this, especially when you consider what Cradle have put out in the past 3 years.
| |
Are these the worst lyrics they’ve ever written? They dragged it down a lot.
| |
Why the fuck is the guy from Cradle of Filth even there?
| |
Maybe the amount BMTH's label paid him has single-handedly financed the next CoF album
| |
I tolerated Mantra, but this is just bad. I think they sound more interesting when they mix electronica into their songs instead of making these bad generic rock songs. I was really hoping they would go more experimental but I guess that's not happening.
| |
The sound of a band at the top of an entire genre popularity wise trying to find a balance between completely accessible and somewhat experimental. Saying they have 'nailed it' might be a bit of a stretch, but, I see what they are going for. On second listen a couple of hours after the first it was FAR better too. Might be a grower.
| |
im in the studio w bmth
they have a dilemma
| |
I agree that this is a band doing a good job at balancing a popular sound with metal. This beats a lot of radio metal for sure.
| |
I'm not gonna lie, this new sound is growing on me.
| |
What are you doing Dani? Stick to releasing GOAT Cradle material.
For real though, band is insufferable now.
| |
Excellent. Now, where's my gun...
| |
why is this even a thing
| |
The article is misleading; it's a bmth track for the new album, not a joint venture between danni and the band. But I'm just nit-picking I guess.
| |
Wow that's pretty bad - the only interest of this is Dani Filth eating cereal and shopping for groceries with the corpsepaint and whole attire on
| |
To be fair, this song was originally written for Limp Bizkit. Not good. It'll do well regardless, as these guys are hotter than a junkie's teaspoon at the minute.
| |
utter garbage. diocan
| |
I'm not gonna lie, this new sound is growing on me.
And so begins the demise of Gonzo. It was good knowing you bud
| |
THIS AIN'T SEMPITERNAL
| |
I liked this
| |
@noct
It's a grower sound like. I hated mantra initially, but radio play has made me kindA dig it. I can see the criticism for sure though
| |
I was one of the crowd that actually liked That’s the Spirit but something about the leadup for amo so far’s been putting me off a bit. I can see the track growing on me after a while but for now... it’s alright I guess?
| |
Fantastic song, cringe lyrics
| |
Are we 100% sure that this band isn't just shitposting at this point?
| |
From the rip-off RATM riff in the beginning to Oli's ego leading him to sing over Dani's vocals (srsly, why even feature him?) this song was a fucking disaster.
| |
Honestly, I had to do a double-take halfway through thei song at the listed artist because I thought this was a parody or something
| |
hwat the hell bobby?... That was... a thing
| |
everything that isn’t oli is fine and honestly better than its been across the last two albums
but holy shit this is oli’s worst lyrics, performance, everything maybe ever
| |
Yeah everything Oli did here was garbage... song had some moments but it was so disjointed
| |
Oli is getting too bloated for his britches. This whole "cult" shtick reeks of inflated ego. We get it, you're a quasi-popular band.
| |
Well today I learned that parts of this were originally written for Limp Bizkit but Fred didn't like it.
| |
Mantra was way better than this
| |
These guys will never go away if we keep giving them attention
| |
This is a hard 1
| |
They need a new vocalist and to start thinking outside the box even just a little bit, this is pretty awful
| |
u wot m8
| |
This song blows. To whoever said this is Taylor Swift metal, you couldn't be more correct. Goddamn these lyrics are bad. And the music just isn't interesting. At least on That's The Spirit, the newer sound had appeal. Now they just sound bored
| |
Can anyone tell me if this Dani feature is a good indicator of how good Cradle of Filth is? Oh it is? Ok then, thank you.
| |
bloc don't make me punch you in the nards
| |
I hated this band before this song. I still hate them after it. Maybe a little more.
| |
"bloc don't make me punch you in the nards"
LOL
| |
"based on the comments here you'd think this was a 1.0, but tbh this could've been a lot worse"
^ this.
| |
I wonder how much vocal work is done my Jordan Fish. It looks like Sykes is just the band's face atm
| |
this is pretty bad. band has fallen off since Sempiternal.
| |
Well we know he can still occasionally scream judging by his cameo on the last While She Sleeps album. But his throat is pretty much wrecked now.
| |
Oh yeah, done live this will most likely all be Jordan. Oli will probably just cover Filth's part lol
| |
But who's gonna do the rapping live? Oli hasn't rapped since Womb 2 Da Tomb
| |
lmao omg
| |
For what it's worth, this is Oli's old rap band: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o_s-A0eNMf4
| |
tracklist released:

jesus christ. jesus christ.
| |
I lol'd
| |
Oh no! It never ends, band should go to hell for heaven's sake.
| |
I mean, this really isn't surprising since BMTH have always been terrible but this gave me a chuckle.
| |
Song is a piece of shit, at best on the level of Three Days Grace's last two atrocities.
The video however is A R T .
| |
dani filth's a thot. he's a freaking nasty hoe. he looks good. i'd love dani filth to bust my pussy open and tell me about the gilded cunts of the world. if a guy shows up with a painted face and a copy of nymphetamine he can hit my backwalls any fucking time of day dude. if a guy's like 'archangel dark angel lend me thy light' im like 'take a fucking caterpillar bulldozer to my pussy like its the gates of midian dude'.
| |
Grimes on a Bring Me the Horizon track... I don't need to hear it to know this is already gonna be a yikes.
Also, what are these track names???
| |
Yeah the track names are mad cringe. I can expect the lyrics will follow suit. Music should be somewhat catchy at least.
| |
Well, you gotta say ...
01 – “I Apologise If You Feel Something”
06 – “Ouch”
13 – “I Don’t Know What To Say“
... sound suspiciously self-aware.
| |
I like this and mantra ... I think my taste in music might have something wrong with it.
| |
I won't go that far but I certainly don't see what anyone would find appealing about it. It's dull in every possible way .. Maybe as a satire, but only with the assistance of the video.
| |
Both songs sound eerily similar too, so it's not unusual to like both. In this new song, after OH WHAT I BEAUTIFUL LIIIIIFE in the chorus, I can't unhear a *mantra* before the verse kicks in lol
| |
"The video however is A R T ."
And that's what pisses me off cos it's a video idea I've wanted to do since like 2012.
| |
@ EnyaFangirl da hell
| |
yeah, apparently Bizkit inspired the new record. By the way what's with people who now claim to like Limp Bizkit. it's like all their shit albums were erased and forgotten with time and now they're considered legends or some shit. I still think they blow so
| |
"Nihilist Blues (feat. Grimes)"
should be interesting, I always knew Grimes was a fan but I never thought she'd feature
| |
“Everybody knows I got bounce” to become meme territory in 3...2...1
| |
yes?
| |
@Eons actually apparently some of Limp Bizkit's management went to Oli and Jordan and asked them to write some songs for Limp Bizkit last year. Fred was opposed to it from the off and barely attended the sessions, rejecting whatever Oli and Jordan wrote cos he didn't like it, and they decided to re-write them for BMTH instead. Starting to think Fred may have made the right call.
| |
Fred's got taste, fuck these losers
| |
Can't say this is terrible in the greater scheme of things. But when aligning it to Sempiternal or There is a Hell, it's terrible.
| |
pretty telling when there's a dani filth feat and hawks never peeps his head in.
| |
''I like this and mantra ... I think my taste in music might have something wrong with it.''
Hahahahahaha.
That tracklist essentially screams ''millenial pandering''. Things will get worse when guys at college start preaching on and on about how ''this band really gets me!!! omg this is my jam, i'm so crazy and misunderstood!''
| |
Is the Limp Bizkit thing real or just a joke? I was going to seriously compare this to the Bizkit and say something about metalcore becoming nu-metal, but holy shit that's glorious in a terrible and great way if true
| |
I thought Suicide Silence's s/t killed any possibility for a nu-metal revival or ''core'' music becoming nu-metal in a future.
I guess I was wrong...
| |
If Sleep did that riff you guys would like it.
| |
I....don't know what to say. It's like they took all of the best parts of their last two albums, threw them in the trash, and made a song with what's left. Dang.
| |
15 seconds in and I hate it. 1:40 in and I'm out. What an awful, terrible thing this band has created.
| |
I thought their last album was actually kinda fun at parts but whew this is some straight trash
| |
*writes in sputnik diary*
"observes bloc progressively getting feistier with user base, symptoms going strong now for one month, follow user closer for entertainment purposes"
*closes sputnik diary*
| |
in the glory days of sputnikmusic bloc was pissy as well
| |
EnyaFangirl has some good taste
| |
Not the worst song by any means but pretty average. TTS had some good tracks at least but not looking too hopeful for this one. I think this band peaked at Sempiternal.
| |
@Cygnus it's completely real.
Besides there are plenty of other -core bands who do the nu metal thing much better. My Ticket Home, for example.
| |
Why is MANTRA capitalized but every other song on the tracklist is all lowercase?
| |
Because AESTHETIC
| |
yeah, I still enjoyed this in the morning. uh oh.
| |
Reddit was already losing their shit over this band now I can only imagine....
| |
Where the fuck is hawks
| |
I REALLY like the guitar riff, admittedly. Sucker for the down-tuned stuff.
| |
"British artists Bring Me the Horizon and Cradle of Filth have just released a song together"
Did anyone call this out yet? This should be edited
| |
"*writes in sputnik diary*
"observes bloc progressively getting feistier with user base, symptoms going strong now for one month, follow user closer for entertainment purposes"
*closes sputnik diary*"
LMAO Storm this is perfect
"in the glory days of sputnikmusic bloc was pissy as well"
You think so? Hopefully I've moved away from that now haha
| |
Wack
| |
sometimes my posts aren't the worst XD
| |
Admittedly grew on me a bit but it’s still pretty bad ughhh the lyrics
| |
Dani Filth has time to do this shit and we're STILL waiting on the Cruelty remix? wtf
| |
So this is good.
| |
This is growing on me, but that spoken word bridge is still so awful. Other than that I think it's a decent pop rock song.
| |
Honestly a pretty fun song
| |
Yea, fun if you like to puke
| |
no u
| |
So. I listened to Suicide Season while I was on a run today and then went back and listened to this and Mantra. Tbh it is not quite as far as a departure from that sound as people would like to think. There I said it.
| |
Do these guys even know what kind of a band they want to be at this point?
| |
I think yes. They want to continue to be a pop-metal band, treading a fine line of maintaining fans and expanding their fanbase. They are actually doing a great job of doing it.
| |
[2]
| |
horrendous
| |
OooOOhhH NooOO! A band is making accessible "heavy" music! How Terible!
| |
hOrReNdOuS
| |
"They are actually doing a great job of doing it."
Couldn't disagree more, I don't think it is possible for fans of sempiternal to support this direction.
| |
OooOOhhH NooOO! A band is making accessible "heavy" music! How Terible!
You don't seem to get the criticism at all
| |
why read crit when you got bounce
| |
the song really isn’t that bad, this could have been so much worse
| |
It's catchy but those lyrics are -10/10.
Like seriously, this is a 31 year old man writing these lyrics...frightening.
| |
They lyrics are incredibly bad and Olly's voice sounds so boring, not to mention the part where they overlap for some reason. On a positive note: they do have "bounce"
| |
that chorus is super catchy
| |
*crappy
| |
""They are actually doing a great job of doing it."
Couldn't disagree more, I don't think it is possible for fans of sempiternal to support this direction."
As a fan of Sempiternal, you're wrong haha
| |
I'm on the fence. I like the instrumentation more than ever, there's a good mix of trumpet and keys in the chorus; something that I personally thought weighed down their pass efforts but again is utilized much better here. I also like the video even if it looks like BMTH are clearly Brockhampton fans.
But yeah, the lyrics are really bad, even for Oli. At least all those edge lord fans are getting what they want
| |
Digging the absolute hell out of this the more I have listened to it. The second half of the song has such a different vibe to the first half but doesn't really change it up that much. Probably a testament to their growth as songwriters (whether you hate them or not).
Lyrics don't bother me when I realised they were probably a pisstake. Same with the vocal structure at the beginning that doesn't fit the music. Absolutely no way it wasn't planned that way. Treat the lyrics and the intro like they are purposely stupid (which I believe is the case), and then just decide if it works for you or not. Hating on it because of the lyrics if they were intended to be ridiculous probably invalidates the hate a little.
| |
"As a fan of Sempiternal, you're wrong haha"
Fair enough
| |
What is this abomination?! Jeeeeeez
| |
"Treat the lyrics and the intro like they are purposely stupid"
Well surprise, you can take every shit song in the world and act like it's intentional. Doesn't make it less painful to listen to a generic load of nothing.
| |
Is it bad that I like this? I mean it’s no Sleepwalking or Throne but it’s not completely terrible either
| |
I went from hating everything about this to unironically liking it. What’s wrong with me?
| |
nothing. I like it too. Like what you like, you’re not wrong for liking something.
| |
Feeling a nice 3 or 3.5 on the album so far
| |
NAH YOU DEAD WRONG THERE IS ONKY ROOM FOR HATE
| |
Genuinely curious to see how the album turns out. Hopefully it’s a huge grower like this was
| |
This is in my top 10 most played songs of 2018.
Make of that what you will.
| |
It's a catchy song
| |
I didn’t think much of this when it dropped, but I dig it now. Really fun song to jam on guitar although it’s pretty simple
| |
Ayyyyy y'all have finally joined my side! I thought I was all alone here for awhile.
| |
Turds of a Feather! Wait, that's not how it goes...
| |
Let it be known that I was in the trenches with you from the start.
| |
Thank you for your service GhostB1rd. I just went back and reviewed your record. You fought admirably.
| |
Damn you did always have my back. Good times.
Feather: I think yes. They want to continue to be a pop-metal band, treading a fine line of maintaining fans and expanding their fanbase. They are actually doing a great job of doing it.

Fantastic song, cringe lyrics"
| |
I stand by the cringe lyrics comment I made, however, being a huge Salvia Erik fan, I really love it when he says "I got bounce".
| |
Teacup I'll take that. But I am willing to let the lyrics slide for how much I enjoy this.
| |
