New Bongripper album 2018-06-18 by Raul Stanciu STAFF | 7 Comments | The Chicago doom/sludge metal quarter, Bongripper have announce the release of Terminal, due out on July 6 through their own Great Barrier Records/Burning World (Europe). The new album consists of two 20-minute tracks, 'Slow' and 'Death'.

Saw them at Modified Ghost Fest in Vancouver. Yob opened and put on a better show IMHO.
By the time these guys were on, the whole audience was ripped. I was on the verge of sleep. They really would shit the strings and then hold their guitars away from their bodies and let the notes ring out for 10 seconds. Monolithic, glacial notes are some people's cup of tea, but not mine. Fine musicians though. Reminded me of the Wo Fat show I saw a couple years back.

I live in Vancouver area. Friends of mine also confirmed that YOB was the show stealer. Also heard people we're passing out in the theater seats during Bongripper. Too bad. YOB should have headlined that one.

Yeah YOB killed it. Superb performance. Great passionate vocals. By Bongripper...my friend and I were among those in the seats in the back zonked out. Just too slow and unlively of an act to keep people awake by that point.
