The whole band should just split up. There's no way they can correct the damage they've done to themselves with Siren Charms and Battles.

It seems like after 3 more awful albums no one will be left in the band except Anders who will turn IF into J-Pop band

And another one leaves, just great. It seems like Anders and Björn still aren't getting it.

If you told me he'd left before recording Battles I'd have believed it too, I couldn't even hear him anyway (which is a shame, cause he's actually a decent bass player, I liked his work up to Come Clarity).

Is the new album really that bad? 'The end' sounded like a fairly decent song.

Wait, In Flames had a bass player?

Don't blame him, he was so underused.

I agree with you jesterhead. It's not that bad, but people need to understand that it's not melodic death metal. It's more alternative rock sounding to me, however, there are only a handful of songs worth listening to in my opinion. Us Against the World, Save Me, Underneath My Skin, Battles, and Through my Eyes are all decent songs. Us Against the World is probably my favorite overall, and it's a bonus song! I have no idea why they didn't include it on the album in place of the many mediocre/bad songs.

They should have kicked Anders in 2003 and kept doing what they wanted not all the bullshit that came after.

Kick him after Come Clarity since he sounded awesome on that record.

@Jester From what I've heard Battles definitely isn't a 1. No way it's worse than Siren Charms. That being said, it can do no better than a very, very low 2. They just don't have it in them to make good songs anymore.

It's definitely not as bad as Siren Charms, but that isn't saying much.

All I ask is another Come Clarity tbh, but that's like if I asked to rule the universe. It just won't happen no matter how much I want it.

Glad I saw them live last week, I suspect that the band will break up soon. It is clear that it has become Ander's show, he wants to make money with the record label and they're calling the shots.
