Busted announce new album 2016-09-08 by DatsNotDaMetulz | 14 Comments | British power pop trio Busted have announced the name of their long awaited reunion album, along with the tracklist, cover and release date. The album is called Night Driver, and it will be released on November 11 via EastWest. The tracklist is as follows:
1. 'Coming Home'
2. 'Night Driver'
3. 'On What You're On'
4. 'New York'
5. 'Thinking Of You'
6. 'Without It'
7. 'One Of A Kind'
8. 'I Will Break Your Heart'
9. 'Kids With Computers'
10. 'Easy'
11. 'Out Of Our Minds'
12. 'Those Days Are Gone'
Regarding the album's sound, the band have spoken about their near total departure from the pop-rock that they made their name for before Charlie Simpson left to start post-hardcore group Fightstar. Instead, the sound is more oriented towards 80s synthpop, influenced by groups such as Daft Punk as well as the career evolution of producers such as Skrillex, Max Martin and Shellback, all of whom started their careers in rock and metal before progressing to careers in pop and dance music.

Says the album is oriented towards 80s synthpop, but then says influences are Daft Punk and Skrillex ok
| | | This... Is intriguing.
If Charlie brings some of the inspiration from the Gunship record I could find myself quite enjoying this. A Busted album. When I'm approaching 30.
Fuck me.
| | | Can't wait!...and I'm 34
| | | Those song titles, though. Fuckin' beautiful.
| | | Me from 12 years ago is gassed
| | | I'm interested to see how this'll turn out- I'm a huge Fightstar fan and I loved Charlie's solo stuff
| | | 8 year old me is super excited for this, gonna spike my hair up just for the occasion
| | | Charlie rejoining Busted makes more sense now if his mission was to make Busted relevant or at the very least somewhat respected.
I wonder if Charlie has called up Alex and Dan from Fightstar to help considering they are both in 80's inspired synthwave group GUNSHIP, those two already know what it takes to make a great synthwave album.
I am intrigued by this genre switch by Busted.
| | | Holy shit the first single is absolutely lovely.
| | | What I want to know is, did Cobus play drums on the album, did they program them, or was it split between Charlie and Matt (Matt was the original drummer before they changed to being a trio while Charlie performed drums on their two old albums)
| | | Wow, was NOT expecting that new sound. Well done.
| | | Sounds a bit like Once Upon a Dead Man, Charlie's other band, they're good as well
| | | I hope that Charlie does some more Fightstar stuff soon just so they can go on a tour. I bought a ticket to their tour last year, but I started my job less than a week before the show, and I ended up having to resell my ticket due to having to attend an out of hours Christmas training session that same evening which I'm still kind of gutted about.
| | | Charlie with his fucking drive jacket on. What an absolute pilchard.
