So hyped to have the old Devin sound back in some ways, this could be his best since the original 4 DTP albums. Easily the best mix he's had in a long time.

The in-studio vids they put out were pretty nice. Sounded like there was much more collaboration and input from the other members than usual, which has me excited.

This sounds like it could be a third Devin Townsend Band album, honestly. I liked what he did with the first four albums of the DTP but honestly all along I just wanted him to do a follow-up to Synchestra and that's what this sounds like.

Yeah in interviews he says that's kind of this albums theme, letting go of control and letting the rest of the band influence it more.

Dizchu I pretty much agree there, it does have the new DTP sound a lot though based on these songs, but not in a way that's overwhelming like it has been, more complimentary this time.

some dude on the Devy subreddit claimed a couple days ago that he's heard a radio promo of the new album and described it as a mix of Terria and Synchestra with some moments of Deconstruction. if he's not lying, I'm stoked.

Chorus was cool but otherwise it seemed a bit unenergetic than a Devy song should.

Devin's writing is as great as ever, and having the band contribute has really changed things up for the better. I continue to be stoked for this.

Sounds like he will on the symphony project coming up. He did a Q&A on Facebook and said that he's been on a self-imposed "leash" since Strapping ended, and he's been wanting to really let loose again, so he'll use the symphony to do that. If that does end up being true, "oh shit" is all I have to say.

Nah the Physicist version of Kingdom is infinitely better than the new version on whatever the fuck that album is called. It's one of my fav DT tracks easily.

I'd be fine with the Physicist version of Kingdom, if the vocal take wasn't fucking atrocious. The more operatic vocals in the Epicloud version suit the song so well. And, the production is infinitely better. I wish the guitars had the bite that the Physicist version had though.

Oh, and Secret Sciences rules. Cool to see the two lead singles both having solos.

I thought synchestra was actually Devin Townsend Band's best (or at least, some of the songs hit higher peaks than the other albums did), but I know I'm in the minority there. Anyway since this is looking to sound kind of like that I'm hyped.

A new version of Truth? I'm not sure what needs improving and how he'll be able to at least make it sound on par.

Yeah it's done much more tastefully this time. Even the title track where it amps up the theatrics it still works great.
