James Woolley dies

2016-08-17 by Tunaboy45 | 9 Comments
Former Nine Inch Nails keyboardist James Woolley has passed away, with his ex-wife Kat Van Buren announcing the sad news.

Woolley joined the band in 1991 for their famous Lollapalooza tour and also played with the band on the first part of their 1994 Self Destruct Tour.

"Though our marriage ended, James always stayed close to his children. He loved being a father. Because of significant neck and spine injuries, he wasn’t capable of doing a lot of physical activities with them, but he loved sitting down to paint, or teach piano, or just look at nature. He passed his amazing musical and artistic talents to all three children.
James passed away this weekend. I wanted our friends to know so you can please keep Brendan, Mary and Anne, the Woolley family and all his loved ones in your prayers.
Feel free to share photos and memories of James Woolley here or on his FB page.
RIP James Joseph Woolley 1966-2016 We will miss you."

I found out when I saw Richard Patrick of Filter posted a picture from the Lollapalooza '91 with him and Woolley. Sucks to hear this, he was only 50 years old... RIP

Logged in to say a huge R.I.P. According to Rolling Stone, he died of neck injuries while falling off a ladder trying to get music equipment... what the actual fuck. That's just as bad as Anton Yelchin from Star Trek's death a few months ago where his car pinned him to a fence. 2016 has been brutal af.

To me, Woolley was my hero right after Reznor in NIN's golden years. Safe to say the sound of Broken and Downward Spiral wouldn't be what they are without him. Prolly gonna jam some NIN this weekend in remembrance.
