This would be so much better if the clean vocals were omitted or replaced with lead guitar. The only time I really liked them is in the clean part and ending of Blackholes.

I actually don't mind the cleans. I'm really glad the violin has had more space to shine.

It doesn't really grab me as much as Portal of I though.

For me, the clean vocals in track one were bad.
They were awesome in track two, though.

I love Tim's cleans, they don't fight the music or try to feature in it, they just flow. Mostly they sound like just another instrument, sometimes he goes off and you get a nice little burst of passion, but that mostly comes from the violin (which is Tim) anyway.

Most cleans in Metal sound pretty similar, I like how these stand out, the approach to their implementation of them is pretty unique. Sounds so awesome when layered with Xen.

I still don't understand how everyone misses how similar this band in general is to Disillusion's BtToS

Actually, I only don't care for the cleans in track 1. The rest of it sounds much better.
This is great, overall. Better than Portal of I for me.

Love BtToS

Seems like they ironed out a lot of issues from Portal on this one, I'm looking forward to jamming this

This, also the mastering also sounds less restrictively compressed, Portal of I always felt kinda somewhat "weak" and "bloated". This sounds more organic so far.

Did I hear someone call BtToS overrated? The fuck? On some obscure music board in Sweden? They aren't that big lol

Album rules, of course. Production has definitely been given a more organic touch, and the material is right on par and even BETTER in places than the last one. Damn I love these guys.
