Great song
| |
I bet this will turn out to be a great album. I can't wait!
| |
this is sweet
| |
Sweet song. Feel bad for always putting these guys off when it comes to jamming melodeath. I'll have to remedy that.
| |
probably the best song on the album
| |
album is boring
| |
yea it is
| |
great song better than the title track
| |
meh
| |
Pretty boring.
| |
Album already leaked earlier in the week, for those unaware. It's somewhere in the 2.5-3 realm for me
| |
Pretty sweet track actually
| |
It gets better with every listen fuck the haters atg rule
| |
It's somewhere in the 2.5-3 realm for me [123]
| |
fucking sick
| |
Why
| |
I like the track, but his vocals are a bit bad to me.
| |
good song from one of the greats color me purple
| |
big ole fat meh
| |
"I like the track, but his vocals are a bit bad to me."
Do you mean how they're mixed or just how they're delivered? Because Tomas Lindberg is definitely one of the better death metal vocalists out there.
| |
So jazzed. Return of the kings.
| |
"Do you mean how they're mixed or just how they're delivered? Because Tomas Lindberg is definitely one of the better death metal vocalists out there."
Used to be yeah
but i do agree his vocals aren't the same as they used to be but it still doesn't sound too bad
| |

I just don't like how they're delivered I guess, but for his standards, they're not very good. I really like his performance on other videos.
| |
so is this more sots or tritsio?
| |
^ that comment just gave me headache
| |
album is boring
You can say that again. I've gone through it so many fucking times today trying to find something to latch onto and it keeps underwhelming more and more. They should have stayed as a live band.
| |
I headbanged to a few tracks
| |
Album wasnt really good at all. Tolerable, but extremely unremarkable
| |
Still better than new In Flames, though.
"thats like comparing a paper cut alongside castration"
| |
I want it. I want it so fucking bad.
| |
lol at you nerds acting like the new at the gates isn't legit as fuck
| |
I really liked this album. Then I came to Sputnik and got my apathy fix.
| |
Not a bad album on 1st listen, t/t stands out.
Vox seem a bit low in the mix
| |
Really normal sounding but it's heavy and I like his vocals so 3.5/5 for me.
| |
Album is great imo
| |
Like this just sounds like at the gates what did you tryhards expect them to put out directly after slaughter of the soul, not melodeath?
| |
nah, I expected this to be average, and it is
| |
lol at you nerds acting like the new at the gates isn't legit as fuck

Actually, most people who are realistic and into the genre will tell you it's watered down horseshit.
| |
Dude its not that bad come on now
| |
it's boring as fuck
| |
Actually, most people who are realistic and into the genre will tell you it's watered down horseshit.
i've been listening to melodeath for like 10 years hop off your soapbox dude. how do you consider one of the original bands to do it to be watered down, they fucking helped create the style of music hahaha
| |
over the past couple year, i've noticed karl has become significantly more pompous with his opinions i.e. he's becoming a cranky old geezer
| |
Just because they helped pioneer the sound doesn't mean this album doesn't sound like all of the other shitty bands who ripped them off
| |
being a pioneer doesn't mean you're immune to making boring music over a decade later. and while the album might turn out to be quite solid this track is definitely lacking
| |
dammit xing now I look like a rip off
| |

hahaha ive noticed the same thing.

i mean no, all the shitty bands who ripped them off sound like them but yeah
being a pioneer doesn't mean you're immune to making boring music over a decade later
i mean obviously haha i mean look at in flames. but this isnt boring to me idk
| |
We are on the same wavelength, Zombi
| |
how do you consider one of the original bands to do it to be watered down, they fucking helped create the style of music hahaha
Doesn't mean you can't strip your sound further which they have done. I will be quite frank here as well, it's as if At the Gates sound like they're influenced by bands that they once influenced.

Some truth in that statement but with the world we live in today, you're not allowed to tell the truth without the world coming down on you. So has my opinion become pompous or are my expectations the same as before and people convince themselves that something is great based on a popular, bias consensus?
| |
Damn, sad to hear that the new album has got a pretty lukewarm reception.
This may sound ridiculous but was there ever any need for AtG to make another album? They shoulda gone out on a high note with SotS and left it at that.
| |
I agree with this statement. However Pleb, maybe it will click with me in a months time but given the amount of time I've already wasted on it, it's just stripped down SotS and sounds nothing like a combo of old and new as I've read in some of these mainstream articles that need to suck dick to sell their cover stories.
| |
That's what I mean, even the previews sounded like a carbon copy of SotS with worse production.
They shoulda took a leaf outta Carcass' book, if you are gonna copy a sound you've already covered then at least make sure the riffs are still engaging!
| |
I swear it when I say this, new AtG sounds like Machine Head (Ashes of Empires era) and the funny thing is their whole career owes a debt to SotS. Where once they were the influencers, they're now influenced by the bands they once influenced.
Wrap your head around that hahahaha
| |
Wizception.
| |
I'm thinking about reviewing it but I would like to do it on the basis that I would get some protection with it hahahaha (ie. make me a contributor so you can get rid of my approval rating hahahaha).
| |
Just go to town on it Wiz, I've always wanted to see a review of yours where you rip the shit out of the record.
