I have to admit I haven't really listened to anything by these guys in like four years, but this kinda sucks imo
Just boring generic pop rock
| |
Immortals is better than Centuries but seriously why are they pretending they're anything other than a continuation of Patrick Stump's solo career?
| |
Centuries was an alright pop single, can't stand immortals.
| |
Better than anything on Save Rock and Roll.
| |
Centuries is fucking annoying now. Immortals just sucks
| |
"centuries is fucking everywhere. garbage song"
Damn really? Never heard till now. Im just sick of that fucking meghan trainor song
| |
God this is awful wtf happened to this band lol. They used to be fun, this just sounds tryhard/pretentious/bad
| |
Because you know I'm all about that bass
| |
band used to have some good stuff
| |
they've gone full blown maroon 5
| |
even Save Rock and Roll sounds phenomenal in comparison to this stuff.
| |
wow no
| |
honestly forgot these guys existed past 2006
| |
i thought they were the shit when i was 8 m/
| |
Wow that was bad.
| |
Soul punk 3 1/2. Yay..
| |
Versus on Centuries are ok, rest is baddddd, boring and lifeless. Immortals is fucking trash.
Everything pre-SRAR is gold though.
| |
Still dig Centuries despite it being everywhere, but yeah Immortals is shit.
| |
i'm thinking the hiatus was secretly a "disregard everything after this, everything from here on out is just for the cash" to their followers.
| |
Its all about the $$$
| |
I wonder how many of you have heard PAX AM Days. Based on each comment, none of you.
| |
I really like The Phoenix and Young Volcanoes, but their "comeback" sound is pretty difficult, especially Stumps singing is unbearable at times.
Both those tracks are just underwhelming, Immortals is maybe a little bit better.
| |
Patrick's solo career is running this band. What even more offensive is their penchant for completely abandoning their hardcore past/influences.
| |
"What even more offensive is their penchant for completely abandoning their hardcore past/influences."
shut up with the faux drama. you sound like a spoiled brat
| |
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fhq7aGa5u4E
| |
The only one that sound spoiled here is you
New FoB sucks, get over it
| |
I'm not troubled about having to get over something that doesn't exist for me because I don't think it sucks so all you're doing is stating your opinion and trying to force it on me as fact. So now he's spoiled and you're acting like a horses ass. =)
| |
Pretty average. Trohman and Hurley should record some new tunes with The Damned Things instead.
| |
agreed hard. Damned Things are awesome
| |
I feel bad for Trohman and Hurley they have so much talent and it's being wasted on what is another shot at a solo career for Mr. Stump. Go back to The Damned Things as that band had so much potential.
| |
'Centuries' sounds like a rejected Maroon 5 song.
| |
Centuries is neither fish nor fowl to me.
Despite their newer sound, I still think they are capable of writing a decent record, if they actually wanted to.
| |
Where is your boy tonight I hope
| |
Wow, that chorus on Centuries, eww.
| |
He is a gentleman
| |
I actually really liked Stump's solo work, but I despise the stuff since
| |
They want to make fun music not serious music. Although it seems like with the couple albums they are focused on spirituality.
We can't really blame Stump for wanting his own solo career. He plays guitar and sings. Even if he's in Fall Out Boy, playing guitar and singing makes you a primary songwriter in most bands. You guys can say that the older FOB is Trohmans and the drummers, but they're all the same people in the same band for the entirety of their careers. You can't blame one person. If Stump was as much a selfish ass as people want to make him out to be then FOB wouldn't be a band anymore. They've been pretty clear that music is for fun and the pure love of it over anything else at any level of popularity or as a group or a solo performer. I don't know if people who aren't musicians understand that because everyone seems to be so demanding of what they want out of bands.
| |
both songs suck, centuries sucks less. save rock and roll was at least tolerable, this is garbage. no interest from a longtime fan.
| |
"If Stump was as much a selfish ass as people want to make him out to be then FOB wouldn't be a band anymore."
Depends on how much the other guys like the $$$
| |
"If Stump was as much a selfish ass as people want to make him out to be then FOB wouldn't be a band anymore."
His solo effort didn't make much. He probably made more just by getting the band back together
| |
"I don't know if people who aren't musicians understand that because everyone seems to be so demanding of what they want out of bands."
Do you know how music forums work?
| |
Centuries is a good pop song.
| |
@ProjectFreak: I was referring mainly to the other members besides Stump. They released Pax Am a year ago and no one counts that and its more hardcore punk than their first stuff. So the whole argument that this is Stumps band is ridiculous.
And Q sure it could be about the money. Most people need to work. But like I said, they released Pax a year ago. It can be argued they are still making releases for fun and not for the money and that's how I see it. Comments such as the ones from Derkyle, FatalHybrid, and SailsAway i dont see how they can be viewed with merit because it's ignoring facts that are out there.
| |
Oh yeah, I forgot about Pax lol
| |
@Storm In A Teacup, it's not that I'm ignoring the facts, it's that after Save Rock and Roll came out i stopped listening to the band. I tried to give the album a chance but i found more of Patrick's influence from Soul Punk than i was comfortable with. Besides, when you release an EP six months after a major release it tends to go unnoticed unless you're actively following the band. And tell me again how my comment is without merit? Their main body of work had mostly consisted of pop punk with some hardcore influences until Folie à Deux was released. While i like Folie à Deux, i find that the more punk and hardcore influence within the record made their brand of radio rock tolerable. So when i state that moving away from those influences is offensive, it's because they haven't written anything worth my time in about 2 albums.
| |
If you haven't listened to Pax AM you should. There is a good chance you might enjoy it. It's the most hardcore influenced album they've ever done. It's all up on their youtube. Actually pretty much every song they've ever done is on their official youtube.
| |
this is awfull
| |
Pretty average. Trohman and Hurley should record some new tunes with The Damned Things instead.
this^
| |
Centuries is okay, Immortals is terrible. More Damned Things pls
| |
Not a big fan of either of these tracks-- Also, I swear I've heard those 'Doo Doo Doo' parts between 1:11-1:17 in Centuries before... In a Dido(?) song or something similar from years ago...
