August Burns Red changes label

2014-08-05 by trackbytrackreviews | 42 Comments
August Burns Red have announced that they have signed to Fearless Records, a label mostly known for its big roster of metalcore and post-hardcore bands.

This signifies the very first time August Burns Red have changed labels, as they had been signed to Solid State Records since their 2005 debut album, Thrill Seeker.

The band's lead guitarist JB Brubaker announced the change through their official Facebook page, also confirming the fact that they will release a new record sometime in 2015:

"We are all extremely excited to be a part of the Fearless Records Family. Fearless has done an amazing job building a community within the label as well as a bunch of our
friends bands and careers. We can't wait to see what they can do with ABR. Be on the look out for our new record coming in 2015!"

On comments that they new label might interfere in their creative process, essentially making them another generic metalcore band, the band stated:

"Right, because the label writes our music".

The band further clarified that:

"No label will ever control anything we do creatively. This change affects you, the listener, in no way".

Not that much of a change labels wise. I'm sure they'll be pretty much the same as always.

I think R&R was these guys' best to date so whatever they think will suit them best

Fearless is one of the bigger labels for this stuff out there so more power to them

Kind of a trip. Looks like Solid State is fresh out of great bands. I'm sure ABR will do fine on their new label.
