Leyland Kirby's Holiday Season 2014-05-09 by MisterTornado | 9 Comments | Those subscribed to Leyland Kirby's (AKA The Caretaker / The Stranger) mailing list on his label History Always Favours The Winners were delighted to two wonderful surprises this afternoon. In the e-mail he first addresses the availability of Caretaker albums on physical formats (An Empty Bliss Beyond This World specifically) and declares "In the future I hope to make these albums available again ... Keep tuned for news about this in the coming months."
Today is also Leyland's 40th birthday, and to celebrate he has released a new album titled We Drink to Forget the Coming Storm, ranking at over three hours long (featuring 40 tracks). In regards to this new album, Leyland poetically states "It can be used to uplift on the low days, to gain strength and clear the mind. Each track combines the same elements piano, digital strings and synthesized choir. There are dark twists and light passages. It leads you somewhere whilst going nowhere."
You can stream and download We Drink to Forget the Coming Storm for free via his bandcamp page (link below).

| | | Leyland has blessed the streets yet again with another classic.
| | | A vinyl of An Empty Bliss sounds like the most redundant thing in the world. I still want it though
| | | Redundant? More like incredibly ideal and wonderful
| | | Is this the album of the year??
| | | Only Adun knows
| | | "ranking at over three hours long"
Soooo, I don't wanna hear you guys complaining about the length of new Swans after this. 8)
