Last album was solid. I'll check this out for sure.

The first single is especially important with these guys. Some bands can redeem themselves from a weak single but Chevelle is not one of them. They're always so telling of how the album will play out.

This band has been an abysmal pile of shit since Wonder What's Next. They couldn't even pull it off live when I saw them open for Alice in Chains.

Saw them live in a festival setting, they were really damn good. Definitely one of the better alt rock bands I've seen.

Hats Off to the Bull has got some killer tracks on it. Piñata is one of their best songs.

I've never really understood the comparisons between Chevelle and Tool. The vocals may sound a little similar sometimes. But to me the music is completely different.

Please be heavy like Wonder What's Next. God, that album has some crushing riffs. The recent albums have sounded much softer in my opinion so I hope they get a little more heavy sounding.

Being up there doesn't make you the best. I like plenty of Tool songs but there's a lot of pretentious bullshit with the band and their fanbase, not to mention some songs that don't appeal to me at all. I'd say they're good, but also overrated.

Generic doesn't necessarily mean radio. The cowbell is the only part of the song that stands out from any other Chevelle song.

Wow, not really. It would be one of the 'back songs that wouldn't chart. This track is just too slow and deliberate for radio appeal and it distinctly lacks major swells. Sure, it has a hook, but it not particularly hooky.

The singer of Chevelle honestly has a pretty whiny voice though. He's never sounded this whiny before. A lot of bands with whiny male vocalists have been charting quite well (fun. for example), so all of that leads me to believe that this song has massive radio potential.

On the band's FB page, there has literally been nothing but praise from the fans, which is honestly a better response than Face To The Floor got. Considering how that charted, this may do well on the radio

Chevelle's pretty much a radio rock band, I don't see how that's a joke.

there is a wide wide wide chasm between the style Chevelle makes and the style Nickelback makes

or even between Chevelle and a heavier (although shit) band like FFDP. Chevelle's music is just a hell of a lot more honest
and well-written
than a majority of mainstream rock bands

Exactly, Chevelle will write a song about a conspiracy theory or something like that and then Nickelback is just "ooh get on yo knees we goin all the way tonight"

Success comes to Chevelle easily anyways. "Face to the Floor" spent like 12 weeks at #1, so even if it isn't as radio-friendly, it doesn't matter.

While the single will do well though I think, I'd really love to see them get at least a gold-certified album in the US again, but in this day and age it's sadly probably not gonna happen

It was either that or Well Enough Alone I first heard from them. Actually one of the first bands that got me into music along with Tool, The Cure and King Crimson

And all but one of them are releasing new material this year.
