| |
omg
| |

| |
Cool, would be nice if that bandcamp link was hyperlinked.
| |
love
| |
very avantgardy, very controvershul, I like
| |
would be nice if that bandcamp link was hyperlinked
my bad, fixed.
Last few streams I chose to came across lately -Agarttha, Carta and now this- are incredibly bleak....
| |
awesome! didn't even know they had a new album on the way. cheers voivod
| |
I saw some soundoffs about this one and thought it should be placed at the front page for all those interested.
| |
hey some of this stuff sounds like a hans zimmer score! cool!
| |
hans zimmer blows though
| |
maybe if you are a hipster
| |
lol oh there's that word again. it's like poison it's just so damaging
i love some of zimmers older scores but his new ones suuuuuuuuck
| |
all his scores sound the same these . didn't he do the recent Batman ones? i don't remember a single moment from those
| |
he co-wrote them with james howard (or whatever his name is) until the last one which he did on his
own
The first movie had a nice main theme, but it wasn't made by him so go figure
| |
hans zimmer blows though [2]
| |
@ Voivod - No worries bro. Thanks!
| |
Fantastic new album. Really loving it.
| |
I could see this being a movie score, absolutely, but I really enjoyed the songs with vocals.
| |
Simply rules extremely hard, simply.
| |
the fuck, where did this come from?
| |
it better be good or else
| |
WELPPP
| |
mediocre
| |
Seriously doubt it.
| |
What did you find mediocre about it? It's significantly better than Wars of the Roses. I'm mesmerized by it honestly. Lay back and listen to it with quality headphones and its just epic.
| |
This sounds like it should have followed right after Shadows. First track was beautiful.
| |
Precisely my thoughts.
| |
the crazy thing is that both of you rated it after one listen.
| |
As good as it sounds right now I'd hold off, yeah
| |
color me all the flavors of excited.
| |
First track was some cool stuff but I NEED DEM GARM VOCALS.
| |
"the crazy thing is that both of you rated it after one listen."
How do you know how many times I've listened to it? For the record, on my third listen now. It's damn good.
| |
Shri Schneider, Glamour Box and Son of Man are my favorites at the moment.
| |
Son of Man is pretty fucking amazing, Glamour Box was sweet too.
| |
yeah, you're on your third listen now, I probably posted that when you were starting your second listen. not far off at all, huh.
| |
Who cares. I will be on my fifteenth listen and still love the album, I'm quite certain.
| |
i love some of zimmers older scores but his new ones suuuuuuuuck
nope theyre all shit
| |
also i think this was streamed a little while ago i remember ulver posting abotu it on their wall
| |
The Gladiator OST was pretty good, as far as I'm concerned, I'm not aware about the rest of his film scores, though.
| |
that first song....WOW!!!!
| |
swee
| |
awesome! didn't even know they had a new album on the way. cheers voivod
| |
I need to hear this.
| |
Wow the first track is already amazing
| |
I think it was the third track that was fantastic, but the latter half of the record isn't that engaging--especially the one with vocals. Decent, but not spectacular.
| |
This is definitely miles above Wars of the Roses, so I'm glad.
| |
all dramatic and shit, very nice
| |
Thanks for this, didn't know about the new album. This is great!
| |
Lack of garm makes me sad
| |
Can't wait to jam omg
| |
holee fuck
| |
Lack of garm makes me sad [2]
His vocals should be utilised WAY more often.
| |
He's a good vocalist, but I liked the instrumental parts of this album more than the parts that he sung.
| |
I think he's pretty well fantastic, and although they kill at the instrumental parts he's still underused IMO.
| |
It rules, but it's too short damn. Son of Man is omg
| |
gladiator ost is okay, his best work is easily inception or the lion king and then DAYLIGHT
| |
hoping son of man is a phil collins cover
| |
oh wow that first track is stunning. sounds like it would fit perfectly in a holocaust film.
| |
Up to the third track so far. I was an Ulver virgin going into this, and damn if this isn't amazing.
| |
Really enjoying this. Much better than WOTR, which was a disappointment following Shadows of the Sun. "Son of Man" could be one of their finest moments ever.
| |
The build up and the entrance of the strings in As Syrians Pour In is just unghhh so good.
| |
Everyone who likes the band should buy this by the way, especially if they know the financial problems the band's going through at the moment.
| |
In a nutshell, what's their financial problems?
| |
To many middlemen leeching off them means they can't actually make any money.... at all .... unless you buy straight from them or their bandcamp. Their last DVD sold well but made a loss. They are seriously worried they would have to quit music because so many people just took a bit of the pie until nothing was left.

It's the entry a bit down started with the title 'THE ART OF DYING' if you want to read it. It's quite sad really
| |
Damn :[
| |
Damn. Things like this made me wish I had money to spend. :/
| |
WOTR, which was a disappointment following Shadows of the Sun
War Of The Roses is hardly a disappointment, in fact it files under those rare cases of "half-finished" albums with great replay value.
| |
mediocre
Nah, it's just kind of boring. Would work better as a score to a fucked up movie. They can never top Perdition City.
Bought this a day or so ago and I feel good about helping out the band, no matter how weak this and their cover album was.
| |
Son of Man might actually have been my least favorite track
| |
Lol this isn't weak at all.
| |
Wizard wrong again. What else is new?
| |
Ulver hasn't put out a good album since 1997.
| |
HMM
| |
lol jk
| |
Ulver hasn't put out a good album since 1992.
| |
my condolences
| |
This is actually a fantastic albums after a couple listens
| |
Wizard wrong again. What else is new?
Wrong? Why try and convince yourself there's more going on than meets the ear?
| |
I don't have to, because what meets the ear is amazing.
| |
wow bust dm evr so pure wherxs gorteqs wow intenz riffs trcvth hav u evn hurd altars?!
| |
Lol.
| |
War Of The Roses is hardly a disappointment
Agreed, I really liked WotR.
Still need to give this one a full listen but what I've heard so far sounds really promising.
| |
Yeah WotR rules
| |
on a serious note i havent heard any post-perdition ulver i should probably get on that
| |
dam
| |
this is gr8
| |
I don't think people really realise how good this is. might end up as good as Shadows if it keeps growing on me....
| |
whoa bro, whoa.
| |
I can see that, JS.
| |
