The artwork for each song is a pretty cool addition. Great album.
| |
Shit my review is not ready
| |
Dang you "Anti-visit". Everything else is surprisingly solid.
| |
and so it begins.....
| |
Here comes 15 user reviews
I'll save mine for the release date so I can fly over all the turkeys
| |
Kinda sucks for them that they were forced to do this because of the leak!
| |
Figured they might do something like this haha.
| |
LOOOOOOOOOOL
i laughed so hard at the first song
| |
Can't handle the soon-to-be surplus of shitty opinions regarding this album.
| |
It's decent, but pretty much every song sounds like an interlude on an Underoath album. There's no meat you know
| |
Definitely agree that most of it resembled Underoath, and I kind of liked that aspect. Kind of expected more from this.
| |
Cool.
| |
Empire sounds so much like Linkin Park
| |
"Can't handle the soon-to-be surplus of shitty opinions regarding this album."
On which side?
Album sucks, Christ.
| |
"Dang you "Anti-visit". Everything else is surprisingly solid. "
Come on man, it's great self aware satire
| |
Yeah well it does sound like Underoath at times. Some good tracks on there though.
| |
Hate Bring Me The Horizon. Love this album.
| |
I'm really not getting the Linkin Park comparisons, none of the new BMTH sounds anything like early LP.
| |
Dude he sounds just like Chester in that one part on Empire
| |
Yeah he really does. I've only heard it once but I remember thinking "Chester Bennington wut?" Oh and
yay 5k comments.
| |
linkinparkcore
| |
I don't know how long it'll take for the shock of seeing this EVERYWHERE will take to fade.
| |
It gets better every listen, I can't believe all the vocals on the album are Oli's.. doesn't sound like him in some parts def his best vocal work. Shadow Moses and House of Wolves are my top two. I agree with some of the comments saying too many songs sounds like interludes though.
| |
Spoiler alert: They aren't as terrible anymore!
| |
HOSPITAL FOR SOULS
| |
I can't wait until the hype for this blows over.
| |
Hey look gay boy is back!!:D
| |
Album is pretty damn good. I deleted Antivist and pretended that they never put it on the album, much better that way.
| |
More impressed than I thought I would be!
| |
Trebor get yours out now, because first one is certain to get most views. SIT ON TOP OF THE PILE.
| |
Oh shit, you're too late. "Sempiternal1998" has posted one. Oh dear, he's 14 years old.
| |
lol
| |
Brace yourselves for the user reviews......
| |
Wow. I love how everyone just fucking loves them now. I fucking hate this site.
| |
Why don't you give the album a chance dickhead
| |
First song really caught me off guard. Wow. I dig it
| |
Also am I the only that things Can You Feel My Heart sounds a FUCKLOAD like Lost in the Echo by Linkin Park?
Especially the beginning.
| |
while i liked the prior 3.8 album average, i'm sure it'll drop to 3.3-3.4, just like Dead Throne
| |
From boring chugchugcore to solid post-hardcore....not bad...
| |
I actually like Antivist for what it is.
| |
Never said it was bad, I'm giving it a listen
| |
Holy fuck this is good, 'And the snakes start to sing' is epic.
| |
5 minutes long, so epic
| |
Oli's vocals have gotten so much better, some of those mid range streams he does sound brutal as hell. Very stoked on this album.
| |
The stream by my house is pretty brutal as well, lots of cool fish
| |
Gotta be honest, need to give this album a break before I wear it out. Just really blew me away, never expected anything but mediocre shit from this band.
| |
negging anything giving this a 4 or higher
| |
"The stream by my house is pretty brutal as well, lots of cool fish"
Hahaha.
| |
This album makes my ears feel shitty
| |
Oh great
| |
the gang vocals on every track kind of kill it for me
| |
So it begins....
| |
So it begins....
| |
I haven't listened to this album yet so I can't really say I like it (or not) yet.
That being said, to all of you hating the album, go on the Sputnik homepage and see what the most popular album is right now.
Then ask yourselves "how come this band is so popular?" again, and you'll have the answer.
| |
The House Of Wolves and Sleepwalking are awesome, hell the whole album is pretty freaking good. This was a major
surprise.
| |
"That being said, to all of you hating the album, go on the Sputnik homepage and see what the most popular album is right now.
Then ask yourselves "how come this band is so popular?" again, and you'll have the answer."
Damn using your Sherlock Holmes skills holy shit
| |
"SputnikSweetheart"
Not sure if female or fag..
| |
Lol'ing at the fact that people still use "brutal" to describe music
| |
maybe shemale?
| |
The album is really strong. Probably will be on my year end list.
"Seen It All Before" sounds like a heavy B-side to The Devil and God are Raging Inside Me.
Definitely wasn't expecting that.
| |
I don't get the LP comparisons, the ONLY overlap with this album and nu-metal anything is the producer, which is obviously a big reason why the album sounds the way it does. Terry Date produced the first Slipknot album also.
| |
The vocals sound like Chester at parts and a lot of the electronics sound like Mr. Hahn
| |
the gang vocals on every track kind of kill it for me [2]
| |
Yeah scene kids can't handle actual hardcore punk influence
| |
i mean do they even listen to refused?
| |
Refused is pretty good actually
| |
It's pretty good
| |
was the review just deleted
| |
I've got a secret, its on the tip of my tongue its at the back of my lungs and, I'm gonna keep it.
| |
review was deleted lol
| |
Luckily I've still got the review open on another page. Its greatness will never die.
| |
I plan on downloading this. Not a fan of the band overall but I'm liking this sound.
| |
So two tracks in and this is surprisingly solid.
| |
@NonApplicable
I thought this too when I heard it. Laceycore
| |
i've seen worst...
| |
"Terry Date produced the first Slipknot album also."
Uh, you may want to check your facts. Ross Robinson did Slipknot's first two albums. Terry Date did Limp Bizkit and Deftones' most popular albums.
| |
I DONT WANA DO THIS BY MYSELF!
| |
I really don't want to be that first asshole who submits his review. Probably cause it'll get the shit neg'd out of it. I'm enjoying the album though (surprisingly). Artwork for each track is a nice touch, too.
| |
album bros way too hard, crap
| |
so fucking good.
| |
Terry Date did a lot of remixing for Slipknot, but not production.
| |
CAN YOU FEEL MY HEART?
album is excellent.
| |
The first song(s)(?) they released were decent but extremely repetitive. I hardly doubt the rest is any better.
| |
It's actually a really solid album. It took everything right about There is a Hell and made it better
| |
The two singles they released were actually the weakest.
Antivist is shit compared to the rest of the album.
| |
Is decent. But antivist is inmature as fuck
| |
wow you guys were right this isn't complete shit
| |
""Seen It All Before" sounds like a heavy B-side to The Devil and God are Raging Inside Me."
Agreed, insane
| |
Well streaming now, lets see if this band is still terrible or not.
| |
Band has improved I've to admit that. Otherwise, I still consider overrated this effort.
| |
hemmm, Decent this is.....amazing however amazing this is not.
| |
i like the house of wolves but yeah the rest is pretty meh so far
| |
wtf is going on
| |
what you mean?
| |
Yeah atari, its all kinda meh, its not as terrible as usual, but the rest is all fanboy hype IMO
| |
well i was more impressed with house of wolves than anything they've done but yeah too bad the pictures are cooler than the songs themselvees.
| |
House of wolves, and go to hell are the 2 that i find decent so far, but yeah, cool artwork, kinda subpar for the rest. I'll admit though, its still a step up from past stuff of theirs. Not a big one, but a step.
| |
it's a step up i guess but some songs are still painfully generic IMHO
| |
This is pretty much a comment version of the Good, the Bad, and the Ugly
| |
@skele, nah. the lyrics are pretty cringe worthy too
| |
The synth intro of the first song reminds me a lot lost in the echo, also oli skyles is trying to imitate chester in some tracks.
| |
Yeah this is true, i need to pay more attention to them but just 12 seconds of paying attention... yuck.
| |
@andcas, some of the lyrics could have been written by aiden lol
| |
haha lol.
| |
but it's so true
| |
CALLED IT.
| |
Yup gave it my rating, and its honest. lol i'll prob hear all the BMTH fanboy masses sy this is amazing.
| |
"I can't drown my demons, they know how to swim"
that is a pretty cool line. i was only being half serious with the aiden comment but you have to admit SOME of the lyrics suck but you're right looks like some of them are pretty cool too.
| |
Album flows really nicely minus Antivist which feels like a bit of a throwback.
Good stuff though.
| |
Oli is really hit and miss with his lyrics, I really like some of them and then a song like Antivist comes along. That being said it was more positive than negative on this release.
| |
I'll say not every song was cringe worthy, some of it wasn't bad, like i said, its a step up for them, i'll give it that.
| |
I feel like nobody's reviewed it yet cos they're all scared to be the first to review because of the inevitable storm of comments coming their way. I dunno *maybe* I'll do one if I cba but I prefer doing stuff which is less well known cos I'm hipsterasfvck
| |
Is this actually good? Haven't listened to them since Suicide Season.
| |
Yeah that's the problem with doing albums which have a LOT of attention, you have to be really careful to make your point clear. With the lesser known stuff I can afford a few more mistakes with my reviews (although I do try to make my point with it). Think I'll hold off doing one of this scale for now till I've done more small time reviews. Been holding off doing Sylencer's album for about 6-7 months now cos I've not had the time to go through all 16 tracks and find a way to condense that into one fair length and detailed review. Might do Tradjectory's album first.
| |
Meh i write reviews making valid points and stuff that is could really be listener based. No review is technically ever right
or wrong. its really just trying to be fair when making your points. People will be objective with your'e right or not. Some
people just don't like hearing something is good or bad. Its the internet after all hah.
| |
I still don't get why some are loving this so much.
| |
Cause they are Fanboys, and even if you make valid points why something is absolutely terrible, and they can't make a counter-point, they will still say its the best thing ever.
| |
someone write a review already so i can pos the shit out of it.
| |
"Cause they are Fanboys, and even if you make valid points why something is absolutely terrible, and they can't make a counter-point, they will still say its the best thing ever."
i havent seen one person say its the best thing ever
| |
if any other band besides BMTH would have released this album, not a fuck would be given.
| |
"if any other band besides BMTH would have released this album, not a fuck would be given."
well no shit sherlock. thats because the band used to suck so people are impressed by their improvement. no one is saying that this is a classic album or something stupid like that lol. the average rating is only a 3.6, which isnt high at all
| |
But there isn't much credit due here. They experimented a little and it came out all right. Oli improved a lot, and they did something different. That is all the credit that should be dealt here.
| |
Its better than previous efforts granted.
| |
yeah but people are giving it 4.5s and even 5s. it's really not that great.
| |
I gave 2.5, its average, its not absolutely horrible, but its not amazing either.
| |
"But there isn't much credit due here. They experimented a little and it came out all right. Oli improved a lot, and they did something different. That is all the credit that should be dealt here."
they also improved the lyrics in some parts and stopped chugging. but once again almost no one is saying that this is incredible or anything. it just sounds a lot better than their old stuff, and it appeals to their taste more than yours, which is why you dont understand the hype. let the people who really like this have their fun lol
| |
"yeah but people are giving it 4.5s and even 5s. it's really not that great."
in your opinion. maybe the people who are giving it high ratings just really appreciate the positives of this album more than you do. theres nothing wrong with their opinion any more than there is anything wrong with yours.
| |
Meh I'm still pretty set with 2.5
but it has its moments
| |
I'm a solid 3.5 after five or so listens. I would like to give it more, but I think a 4 feels a bit overkill.
| |
"There is a hell" was an improvement on their other stuff, and this is an even bigger improvement. Much more post-hardcore than their previous releases, but that's not a bad thing.
| |
4.5
| |
@infiction
3.5. Album is good but not great. Oli sounds terrible and it sounds kind of overproduced to me.
| |
thankfully that first review for this is gone now.
| |
The second one was even worse.
| |
there's been two!?
| |
at least the second review was entertaining.
"normal people were scared of screamo"
| |
oh, i'm thinking that the second one was the first. I never saw the first. the second one was awful.
| |
lol the second review was pretty funny
| |
it went 2 for 20 in about 15 minutes.
| |
Sad part is he was dead serious with everything he said.
| |
Review was awful, so was the first one. I hope the next one is by someone who can write a half decent review.
| |
Hahaha at the guy who deleted his awful review. I was actually having fun in the comments section. Day ruined.
| |
yeah why are the reviews getting deleted if there's a stream?
| |
I barely listen to any of "scene" hardcore bands since they've become so generic with the same boring chugging riffs, breakdowns, and synths. But I'm actually pretty impressed by this album so far. It's not great but how is this "absolutely horrible?" They took the step in the right direction to make them stand out from the dreadful cookie cutter hardcore bands.
| |
I downloaded the album and it's all good but I can't play it on my ipod for some reason... anyone got the same problem?
| |
Man, I missed both of the terrible reviews for this? Son of the bitch...
I have never heard this band before and I am not a fan of this so far. Guess I haven't been missing out on much. Seems like people were going a little too crazy for this the last few days.
| |
More power to them. I am just not seeing the appeal of this.
| |
This doesnt sound good or anything, but it's actually kind of....decent. I was expecting poopy.
| |
Sigh.
So many fanboygasms.
It's alright.
Also, why in God's name is Refused being spoken of in this thread, my word.
| |
I like urine. I'll have two.
| |
I'm gonna skip out on Sputnik for a few days while the wave of reviews subsides.
| |
I can definitely wear a trucker hat to this album.
| |
This should probably get the same rating as disambiguation, if not higher.
| |
Is this really that good? i should probably listen to it. If it doesn't sound like underoath i'm going to hate all of you
| |
I never really liked Underoath, so maybe that's why I don't really like this.
| |
pretty infatuated with this album still. don't get any of the linkin park comparisons tho maybe you should all stop listening to linkin park
4-4.5
| |
There is definitely Linkin Park elements in some of the songs, whether you like either band or not. haha
| |
There are alt-metal influences from the era of Deftones and Linkin Park, that's for sure. Terry Date's involvement probably helped bring that out. BMTH are moving further away from metalcore now anyway.
| |
I downloaded the album and it's all good but I can't play it on my ipod for some reason... anyone got the same problem?
Convert it to mp3 on itunes
| |
I like this, surprisingly solid. Definitely their best
| |
People are referring to the 3:00 mark in Empire?
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sA5hj7wuJLQ
Cause if that's what you are all crying about it's quite insignificant.
| |
I'd be interested in knowing the percentage of people liking this because they swear by the band, to the amount of people that have actually turned to enjoying them.
This album is likely where I stop listening to these guys.
| |
lol
| |
IF YOU CAN'T SOAR WITH THE EAGLES
DON'T FLY WITH THE FLOOOCCKKKKKKK
| |
Hopelust: Same here, I had that feeling as well although I enjoyed it for the most part
I wondered that too btw! Haha good point ;)
| |
So why hasn't anyone reviewed this pooh yet.
| |
Skele did, but it got taken down.
| |
those are the only points I have. zinggggg
| |
I don't have anything to say.
| |
