Possible Live Tool DVDs On Way

2007-01-25 by Dave de Sylvia EMERITUS | 13 Comments
Tool drummer Danny Carey has indicated that the group will release a number of concert recordings in CD and DVD form in the near future.

The band records each show they play however, unlike Pearl Jam, they don't intend to release them all commercially, preferring instead to pick the best shows. Said Carey: "I doubt if we'll go that far [releasing each show] with it, but we'll definitely be releasing some live DVDs and specific concerts that we feel strongly about.

"I think that's just a cooler way to do it. Pick the best stuff instead of just flood the market with a bunch of mediocre crap (laughs). No one can be their best every night. It's great that people may want all that, you know, if they're real hardcore fans, but I don't know, I think quality rather than quantity is a lot more important way to go."

Tool commence their North American tour on March 15 in Las Vegas.

Judging by the live vids I've seen, I don't know that it would be very interesting without a huge member presence, especially Maynard. But hey, all of those were bootlegs.
