The Replacements at Coachella?

2012-05-22 by Alex101 | 10 Comments
About 21 years have passed since The Replacements decided to call it a day. Recently, fans set up an account on Facebook by trying to ask its surviving members to reunite for next year's Coachella Festival, which takes place next April in Indio, California. They also want them to do more shows and possibly a new album, if their appearance at Coachella happens.

The fans also say session drummer Josh Freese (who played on two songs from their 2006 compilation album "Don't You Know Who I Think I Was?") doesn't have to be part of the reunion as a fill-in for Chris Mars, who has left the music business for years. Instead, they are suggesting possible fill-ins, such as Grant Hart (Hüsker Dü), Atom Willard (Rocket From The Crypt, The Offspring, Angels & Airwaves and Social Distortion), Jimmy Chamberlin (The Smashing Pumpkins), Barrett Martin (Mad Season, Screaming Trees and Barrett Martin Group) or "just any perfect drummer".

why wouldnt they want Josh Freese? He is by far the best drummer of those listed. And seeing him live with NIN made me realize his brilliance is NOT just confined to the studio.

I officially hate the fact that this festival takes place literally on the opposite side of the United States. The amount of epic bands reuniting at this festival every year just gets more and more ridiculous with each year. This would be cool to see too, even though Bob Stinson is dead.
