Drowning Pool Singer Leaves

2011-11-29 by Metalstyles | 39 Comments
Drowning Pool have parted ways with vocalist Ryan McCombs.

The band, who has worked with 3 singers in their 10 year career, issued the following statement: “We have always been a band who has gained success despite having multiple singers...maybe we suffer from reverse ‘lead singer’s disease. Changing things up has not always been easy, but the band has become re-energized time and time again. We are looking to find a new singer who will give both us, and most importantly our fans, the new adrenaline shot they deserve. We do still wish Ryan great success in his future endeavors.”

McCombs had been part of the band since 2006, when he replaced then-current singer Jason Jones, who joined Drowning Pool following the tragic passing of Dave Williams.

Drowning Pool will survive. They've managed to find two replacement singers already, I'm pretty sure they'll find a third. Survive does not imply they're gonna suddenly start being awesome or anything.

I'm curious to see how SOiL will work out, they took a much bigger dip when Shaun Glass left.

I'd rather shit a porcupine on fire than listen to this band.

The only thing worth listening to was Sinner and that was way way back.

"Sinner's the only decent thing they did"

Agreed. This band suffers from this lead singer disease. Dave Williams is still haunting them. They should retire.
