It's got some good aspects but generally it's uninteresting. Hopefully the rest of the album is better. They're focusing more on melody than electronic sounds and I don't think that's what they're good at- especially with Rou Reynolds' voice.

It's not bad it's just boring. I think I'm going to have to listen to Take To The Skies a few times to get over it though.

I miss when this band was just a bunch of English scene-esque hipster in a basement surrounded by a shit ton of other kids like them.

(I reference their video for "Sorry You're Not A Winner" of course)

That being said, this isn't horrible, just extremely generic. And that breakdown is priceless...

Dun Dun Dun. Dun Nun Na Nun Na.

I kinda like the breakdown. Just cause it's not really....a breakdown? It's just a weird constrained sounding part. Idk. I have a soft spot for this band.

It's a breakdown. Even if it's an electric breakdown, it's still a breakdown.

And therefore evil.

Loved it. Actually, I think it's gonna be a solid record. All of you haters, should stop complaining and quit expecting more of your "chung chung" open cord breakdowns and whiny faggy lyrics- This is not attack attack! or any of rise's bands. This is shikari, and they are awesome in what they do. And Rou's voice is actually distinctive. So, go listen to your autotune favorites.
