New Dark Tranquillity Album 2006-10-28 by Shadows | 14 Comments | Swedish Gothenburg group Dark Tranquillity has been in the studio for the past three weeks recording their 8th studio album, the followup to 2005's Character.

Drums were brutally nailed the first week, and we're currently working simultanously with guitars, bass, vocals and electronics at Martin B's own Rogue studio, enabling the songs to gradually develop from their embryonic skeleton structures into fully equipped carriers of oblivion and pestilence.
Producer Tue Madsen was here during the first days of the process and did a great job setting up the basic sound for all the instruments. When everything is recorded, the material will be taken to his Antfarm studio in Denmark for the final mixing and mastering, after which we'll let you in on some further info regarding the contents the album.

Dark Tranquillity is known for their spacey, somewhat ambient sounding melodic metal, so brutal album of sickness may come as quite a change in the band's sound.
The embryonic skeleton can be expected to develope into fully equipped carriers of oblivion and pestilence very, very soon.

I feel ashamed for having not listened to one single full length CD of these guys, while I'm one of the biggest Melodic Death Metal whores that could ever encounter this site. From what I've heard, they are pretty awesome.
