better song than magentic jawn. I'm now slightly interested in this record
| |
not sure what to think of this
| |
Geoff's voice is just so off-putting now...
| |
love it
| |
song was so boring until the last 45 seconds
| |
snore
| |
2/5
| |
Better than the Bad Religion cover at least
| |
i don't get the approach to the vocals. idk if it's the production or what but they sound "off"
| |
sounded really fucking good
| |
the singer voice is what keeps me from liking any thursday
| |
Love the way that song ended.
| |
Can't listen now, but I've had 'Cross Out the Eyes' stuck in my head today for some unknown reason. I take it that this souncs absolutely nothing like that.
| |
Really stoked after seeing them . One of my favorite post-hardcore bands, and I like the way this sounds .
| |
there was an awkward moment at about 1:38 tho
| |
the more i hear it the more i like it
| |
the singer just ruins thursday for me
| |
No it doesn't sound a whole lot like cross out the eyes, but it's still pretty awesome
| |
Love the instruments. Don't agree (as always Friedman) with the recording levels of Geoff's vocals. I wish they'd get rid of that douche producer.
| |
2011 is pretty crazy so far.
| |
Solid song. I agree though, the vocal production sounds a tad off.
| |
A new Thursday with bad production stop the fucking presses
These dudes need a guy like Ross Robinson or Terry Date to give them a shot in the ass, the production in WATT was the best they had by far.
| |
Vocalist is the shittiest part of this band [578290].
Can't stand him.
| |
more shitty br covers plz
| |
I suppose I'm in the minority here because I really liked that.
| |
War all of the time
| |
The singer MAKES Thursday. Geoff is an incredible vocalist on so many levels.
| |
if you say so
| |
Really digging the new sound and style they're going for with this one. I'm looking forward to the record, there are probably a lot of surprises waiting
| |
Yo Damrod, what was that Russian website where you got your avatar from?
| |
Well I'm thoroughly excited for the new album now. This song wasn't that great, but it'll probably grow. Magnets certainly did, I love it now.
| |
This sounds more like an album track than a single. Loved the drumming, but would prefer to see how the song fits into the whole album before fully judging it. There were many tracks on 'Common Existence' that would have seemed pretty ordinary in isolation, but made the LP so cohesive.
| |
"the production in WATT was the best they had by far."
AGREED.
| |
That was pretty awesome.
| |
loved it. this is the first time i have heard a group of people say the vocals are why they dont like this band. maybe thats just the new wave of retards that have joined this site in recent years
| |
is not about being a retard, i swear i don't usually care about vocals i like him in United Nations and shit tons of bands with bad singers
| |
You think this is bad, listen to Native.
Thursday is bess bro.
| |
I was impressed by this song, better than what I expected.
| |
i think that this band really really sucks.
| |
It's pretty cool. Love the drums. I agree with Davey though, sounds more like an album track instead of a single.
| |
Going to be interesting to hear what album sounds like as a whole.
| |
boring
| |
I haven't listened to Thursday since Full Collapse, but I dig the direction they are going in. The production is bland for the grandiose kind of sound they are taking with this song. if the production was more solid and clear it would sound much better. However, I think the song is good for the most part. Plus, the vocal style fix the song perfectly, I just don't like the last few notes he hits at the end of the song.
| |
"The singer MAKES Thursday. Geoff is an incredible vocalist on so many levels."
And a pretty fucking awesome lyricist, too.
| |
rules
| |
I agree with SteelErected. I hope these are kind of like, rough cuts maybe? Because they're going for such a huge, astmospheric, then crushing sound, the production should feel a lot better.
But I'm digging this, and like the complexity as opposed to all the HURR DURRR THIS ISN'T FULL COLLAPSE ITZ SO BORING!11!111!
| |
That shit was good
| |
Geoff's vocals are the type that shouldn't work but totally do for some strange reason. And yeah, his lyrics are fucking beastly.
