So far they've done a video for the three worst songs on the album. Awesome.

They should just put this album in their past and start working on the next one already.

i think many investors have gotten rid of their Muse shares after listening to the new album.

Bloc, it will probably be their biggest selling album & isn't that what "investors" are most concerned with!?

I'm unsure it is yet, but I have a feeling it will be. I'm only guessing though.

It probably will be, Muse gets bigger commercially with every release, and Black Holes wasn't too much of a letdown so that people stop having faith in Muse.

but this album was a letdown to a large portion of their fan base, don't you think?

I wouldn't say a large proportion.

Either way, you used the word "investors" & I just thought I'd get it out there that they are very much increasing their fanbase.

Yeah this album outsold Black Holes in it's first week...

Which is actually what Black Holes did to Absolution.

All of what I said should have been the other way round. But oh well.

I have that feeling too. Muse are getting bigger and bigger, I have felt people around me have suddenly begun to notice them only recently.

'What? You say these guys have been around since the late 90's?'

Buddy. Resistance is one of the better tunes off the CD, there's not a better three they could have chosen as singles.

Good song, good video. Although I'll admit this album was weak, it had a few solid tracks, I still plan on seeing them live. Looks like that was a killer show they recorded this at.

^ Except that Undisclosed Desires is objectively the worst song on the album and probably their worst
song ever.

That was a response to two posts up

I agree with Mordecai. It's not bad at all... It's just too much to sit through all at once.

And - maybe more relevantly - it's probably their weakest album.

It's better than Showbiz, but it doesn't equal Absolution or OoS which are classics. It's just as good as Black Holes, so it's still solid.

As per usual, I'm in the minority around here. I think 'Showbiz' is under-rated & OOS is over-rated.

"Aids", Undisclosed Desires is definitely an odd ball song for Muse, but usually the label chooses the singles anyway, so they are looking for something catchy and radio-friendly, there's not much else to choose from. Resistance and Uprising are great choices for singles from just a "ok" album.

Album is a solid 3.5.

Song is good, and video clip is good as a live video can be.

I loved this song as soon as I heard it. I agree though overall it's one of the weaker albums, Showbiz is probably my very least favourite though and they are all worth hearing/owning.

Showbiz fucking rules and this is downright awful. They're so full of themselves THEY'RE REACHING TO THE SKIEEEES.

Fuck these videos, all they do is remind me how disappointed i was in the new album from one of my favourite bands ever. And whoever says The Resistance is better than BHAR is insane musically, Map Of The Problematique alone blows this whole album to shreds.

"And whoever says The Resistance is better than BHAR is insane "

BHAR is actually my favourite by the band. Perfect in every way and introduced me to these guys.

Go on, tell me absolution and origin are better...

I think that Resistance's better than Showbiz but worse than the others. Origin of Symmetry is better than Resistance and Absolution & Black Holes are pretty much on par. Seriously. I don't know if I should buy Resistance tho', my listening sessions on Spotify have not really impressed (except for Uprising and a few others). : I

Stop being such metal dorks. The Resistance is a good album, may not be their best but it has a certain special quality that I find to my liking. (It also features stellar production)

And also, the style of music on Resistance is quite radically different to the one featured on OOS. It's like comparing apples and oranges. (Muse 2001 is not the same band as Muse 2009)

The annoying thing is, most Muse fans I encouter have only bothered with this and BH&R (which, again, is the reason why so many people hate Muse because every single since BH&R except for Maps is shit). Whenever I tell a Muse fan my favourite Muse song is Stockholm Syndrome, there's a 90% chance they go "wut"
