Avenged Sevenfold Drummer Dies

2009-12-29 by Dave de Sylvia EMERITUS | 175 Comments
Jimmy "The Rev" Sullivan, drummer with Orange Country rockers Avenged Sevenfold, has died aged 28.

Sullivan was found unresponsive in his Huntington Beach home at 11 a.m. on Monday morning. “The cause of death is still under investigation,” said Deputy Coroner Mitchell Sigal. “An autopsy has been scheduled.” There's no indication that the death is being treated as suspicious.

The band released a joint statement on their official website, expressing their sadness and requesting that his family's privacy be respected at this time.

The statement reads: "It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we tell you of the passing today of Jimmy “The Rev” Sullivan. Jimmy was not only one of the world's best drummers, but more importantly he was our best friend and brother.

"Our thoughts and prayers go out to Jimmy's family and we hope that you will respect their privacy during this difficult time. Jimmy you are forever in our hearts. We love you."
