AFI Album Details + New Clip

2009-08-08 by Dave de Sylvia EMERITUS | 40 Comments
AFI will release Crash Love on September 29.

The band have uploaded a new mini-site that, in addition to revealing the tracklist, confirms that the rumoured cover art leaked late last month is the real deal.

A short Youtube clip showing the band and the winners of the Begin Transmission competition recording gang vocals for 'I Am Trying Very Hard To Be Here' is attached.

The following set of lyrics for the song 'OK, I Feel Better Now' are attached in a text file: "I died for the last lie, and the heartbreak for the first time, I could not take til I made you cry.

"This is what you taught me. This is what you taught - and I learned well - to recognize that feeling easily can be dispelled.

"Show your wounds I'm bored with mine. Nothing is new."

Tracklist:

1. Medicate
2. Darling, I Want To Destroy You
3. Beautiful Thieves
4. I Am Trying Very Hard To Be Here
5. Veronica Sawyer Smokes
6. It Was Mine
7. Sacrilege
8. OK, I Feel Better Now
9. Too Shy To Scream
10. Cold Hands
11. End Transmission
12. +++

This isn't sounding too good at all, and I actually enjoyed Decemberunderground

lol, I laughed at song title #9. It almost seems as a joke title like some bands do with songs because it was so bad.

I think he was intructing the winners of the begin transmission contest. All 6 of the people standing with the band are going to be featured on the album on that flash flash song apparently.

hmm i guess thats a matter of opinion.
even though they were one of my favorite bands all through middle and high school i always though most of their lyrics were a joke. their melodies and musicianship were what always blew me away and what failed me on DU.

The more I see about this album, the more I realize I'm going to hate this. AFI is dead to me.

.. I don't believe the last track has been confirmed to be "+++". If anything, as most on the DF Boards (Despair Faction Boards; AFI's "fan club") presume, we're still waiting on the last twitter counter to discover what the final track is actually titled.

i think that its hilarious how everyone on sputnik hears like a 30 second clip or in this case like 15 seconds and immediately makes assumptions of what an entire album is going to be like. in this case there's not even music it's just like a vocal melody and a chant. another case of failure on the sputnik review site.

also, just a heads up, i'm not even a big fan of this band. sing the sorrow was great. their old demos were great. thats about it.

I don't know what the fuck everyone is whining about, but whatever. I'm not sure you can base an entire album on a few random song clips. But - and I don't think anyone can deny this - the album art is an epic fail. ew
