Some gentle housekeeping: there seems to be a resurgence of phobic and/or ableist slurs of late and this must cease, please. When the trash takes itself out like lemmings, there’s no need to regress into edgelord posturing. Give a man a little power, and he falls in all kinds of love with himself. Also, the 2025 staff list is appreciably similar to the community list — who else was going to put Deafheaven at #1 along with The Callous Daoboys and Ethel Cain in the Top 5? One fun fact is that Oklou made its way high up in the 30-11 tier. Love is a chemical; we give it meaning by choice. Whether you are a daily presence (hi!), took a short break (welcome back!), or are returning after a long respite (samesies!), we love you, even if we don’t love the site “randomly” timing out. Guys, gals, and non-binary pals: cuffing voting season is upon us!
The tl;dr: if you would like to submit a ballot so that your voice is heard for the site’s Top 50 LPs of 2025, please submit yours [here].
The tl;dr of that tl;dr:
1) The ballot is in three sections. The first is your username (even if you can’t create an account, remember your password, etc.). The middle third is your (mandatory) top 10. The last portion is completely optional, but you can include picks 11-25 on it. Please be sure to submit your ballot officially! You can go back and edit it as long as the form is accepting submissions.
2) For now, we’re going to stick to LPs, so please do not submit EPs, Live Albums, Compilations, singles that are somehow in the database, or any other non-LP item.
3) Please strive to ensure the artist and album reflect what’s in the Sput database, even if it’s not technically correct (since we can’t seem to figure out a solution for ampersands, artists with the same name, non-Latin characters, and the like). By having artist and album in separate cells, we can try to fix any accidental errors.
4) Deadline is going to be on or after December 4th at 11:59PM EST (it will not close early — we promise).
