Here’s a list of 30 notable new releases for the week of March 22nd, 2024. Please refrain from immediately jumping into the comments letting me know how much I suck for omitting a fusion dungeon synth polka band from Kyrgyzstan (I can deal with it if you wait at least a day). Genres/labels are best guesses based on cursory Googling and should not be taken seriously. Some Bandcamp embeds are included. This is the Little Caesars Hot-n-Ready Principle: instead of picking two between Hot, Ready, and Good, you have to pick 2 from Some Embeds, Some Information, and Exhaustive List of Everything That Could Possibly Be Released This Week Complete with Hyperlinks Everywhere. Yaaas, queen! Slay! Live, laugh, love. Please feel free to request reviews for any of the following albums from staff and/or contributors. Or don’t, whatever. I’m not your mom. Live your best life. YOLO.

NGL, love that addition. I usually check a song by most on Spotify to see if any peeks my interest, this is way easier :D

Big hopes for Lenker and the Starless album, though the Klaus Johann Grobe and Waxahatchee could surprise me

DadKungFu
03.19.24
Looking forward to Waxahatchee and Holter the most here, should be a pretty good week.

Pikazilla
03.19.24
Waxahatchee gonna slap hopefully. Adrianne Lenker on the other hand is begging for a 1 with that horrid artwork.

Dedes
03.19.24
Future folk? Is this a niche thing or just some sort of odd descriptor? Either way my interest is goddamn peaked

Zakusz
03.19.24
Awesome new format with the embeds!

Sunnyvale
03.19.24
Man, definitely my most anticipated release week so far in 2024 (and might be the biggest of the year in full): Adrianne Lenker, Restorations, and Waxahatchee are the headliners, but a lot of interesting lower profile artists for me as well.

Barely Civil was a pleasant surprise

btw while we're at this updating of the weekly radar, if it were possible, maybe also make the titles embedded with url to the album profile. just so that we can click on the name and be directly forwarded to the album page

Cassie Kinoshi's seed. - gratitude (philharmonic jazz)
Altar of Betelgeuze - Echoes (big boomin cock'n'balls death metal)
Acathexis - Immerse (the most engrossing bm you've heard probably)
Soft Loft - The Party and the Mess (indie)
Artificial Language - Distant Glow (mathematical alt-rock)
Sam Evian - Plunge (Big Thief apparently)

For those that don't know (which is probably just about everybody) but care (which is probably only a handful), the Habitants release is René Rutten of The Gathering playing Ethereal Wave / Doompop / Shoegaze. I've also seen it described as Trip Rock. It has a female vocalist... kind of reminds me a bit of Souvenirs and Home from The Gathering with more dream pop.

Demon of the Fall
03.20.24
I started reading that and assumed I would care 0%, by the end I care 100%...

so thanks Willie! I will check anything even the slightest bit Souvenirs adjacent so this seems like an essential peek

Demon of the Fall
03.20.24
as I was scanning through the list of releases "Habitants" had caught my eye, yet I imagine this may not have developed into an actual check without your guidance

Unreal week. Waxahatchee, Lenker and Restorations are all no brainers. Elbow, Blanket and Barely Civil should be worth checking too based on singles. And I am very curious about Francis of Delirium, they could be a newcomer of the year.

Willie
03.20.24
@Demon of the Fall: Did you get a chance to check it out?

neekafat

AlexKzillion
