October goes out with a band. Lots to process here regarding album covers too, so I'll leave you to it. What are you checking, what are you running from? These are questions we care about, so let everyone know.

Have a great week everyone.

JefferyPigglestein

JefferyPigglestein
10.24.23
you still think i'm faking the music i like..... lol

JohnnyoftheWell
10.24.23
not rly a hot take given that you're one of the biggest washups on the site, have a prickly history of faking opinions for attention, and are currently faking your identity. get a pet/buy a video game/make a sandwich

JefferyPigglestein
10.24.23
why are you like this

JohnnyoftheWell
10.24.23
go gaslight another website lol

JefferyPigglestein
10.24.23
you weren't this bad in like 2021

JohnnyoftheWell

So happy to work on this post for hours in order to provide some space for Johnny and Jeffo to banter. Really warms my heart, thank you.

10.24.23
Mildly hyped for Gravesend, Gazelle Twin, OMD, Wayfarer and Doro.

Curious about Dokken in 2023, Autopsy, Throat, Sorcerer, Ragana, In This Moment, KGLW and... hm... James Blunt.

Voivod
10.24.23
The Duran Duran album art looks pretty grim, bookmarked.

evilford
10.24.23
Geriatric goth rock lol

ToSmokMuzyki
10.24.23
aegrus, autopsy, dokken, doro, endseeker, gravesend, poppy, serenity, sorcerer, wargasm lets gooooooooooooooooooo

ToSmokMuzyki
10.24.23

hangth3dj
10.24.23
Duran Duran, OMD, James Blunt, END, Hollow Front & Wargasm...gonna be a wild week.

Demon of the Fall
10.24.23
erm what is this...'molecular corporation: millions of dead menposters'

lmao

Demon of the Fall
10.24.23
I am getting a random urge to check Gazelle Twin, not sure why yet

Demon of the Fall
10.24.23
ah, right yes I liked the debut... cool

maybe a couple of other interesting morsels here, but my focus is waning. Big and mostly unimpressive looking list

Dewinged
10.24.23
I included Obscura just for you Demon, and this is how you treat my meticulously and carefully curated list.

Demon of the Fall
10.24.23
Oh shucks, sorry and thank you for your service

Respect the scope of the list, just not moved by it’s contents (although honestly I have no clue really, could contain hidden gems)

Demon of the Fall
10.24.23
eh swear I put its, stupid autocorrect giving me an invalid character

gschwen
10.24.23
Two more:

RILE - Pessimist: this band is an offshoot of Cult Leader, similar sound. If you're into sludge metal and mathcore, this might be for you

Crime in Stereo - House & Trance: this way-too-underrated post-hardcore band is back with their first album in 13 years

henryChinaski
10.24.23
will check out Closure In Moscow and maybe Taking Back Sunday

Project
10.24.23
I want closure in moscow to be good but I'm real skeptical of any band taking a break that long

ToSmokMuzyki
10.24.23
>erm what is this...'molecular corporation: millions of dead menposters'

shit hawks lets get our guns

Sniff
10.24.23
Kind of a big week.

Also LFG hardcore ambient

AsleepInTheBack
10.24.23
Thanks dewi, looks like a packed week eek

JohnnyoftheWell
10.24.23
forgot to say, but the new Hinako Omori is a l o v e l y album - comfortable ambient highlight for this year, and a succinct one at that. will be dropping a review in the soon, but get on that y'all

Dewinged
10.25.23
Surprised no one has commented on Sofia Kourtesis' cover "hommage" to P. Bridgers' Punisher's cover, like... whoa...

neekafat
10.25.23
is that an intentional homage? or is that just common indie lighting

Dewinged
10.25.23
Might be very common cause Angie McMahon (above) is also using it lol

Get Low
10.25.23
It's all about Taylor Swift this week. 1989 baby!

Demon of the Fall
10.25.23
just realised who Hinako Omori actually is and that I loved her previous album / am now hyped, woo!

DoofDoof
10.25.23
On the list: DJ Shadow, Shabazz, Wild Nothing, Gazelle Twin, Mountain Goats and I guess King Gizz yet again.

Off the list: not a lot to report this weeks

Still, the year has some life in it yet going by what’s on the list

manfrombelmonty
10.25.23

10.26.23
ok copatorium

TheNotrap
10.27.23
Death squad should take a peek at Sepulchral Curse

Azazzel
10.28.23
I think my eyes are bigger than my ears this week. so many curious legacy acts but I'm already up to my neck in metal from this month like Laster, Cirith Ungol, Furia, the Dream Unending/Worm split I can't stop jamming, One of Nine 'Eternal Sorcery' for some Scandi-melo Satyricon worship. Malokarpatan from this week is sublime and I can tell that Gravesend album fucks raw if you miss the ferocious grind of Pig Destroyer in blackened war package

Azazzel
10.28.23
Vertebra Atlantis is pretty cool too with members of Cosmic Putrefaction playing that dense psych-disso-black style
