Looking forward to the Chocolate Hills release. It's Alex Patterson of The Orb and someone else.

Description: Loosely based around a nautical journey to the Bermuda triangle and back, this is a fantastic voyage, but seas remain calm – more ‘Life Aquatic’ than ‘Moby Dick’. Tracks gently bob and float on bass which is roomy and buoyant like the hull of a ship, whilst luxuriously fluffy clouds meander overhead, before their vessel dives deep below to marvel at aquatic delights, guided by sonar.

I liked the last Arkona release so I'll check out the new one. Since it's a slow week, maybe I'll experience my first Queens of the Stone Age album.

So much this week, highest priority will be (in order) - Ben Howard, QOTSA, Bonny Doon, Killer Mike, Deer Tick, Kool Keith

There are loads more I would ideally get to though.

Late addition: AVKRVST - The Approbation

The band name and album cover might lead you to believe they're some sort of post black metal band, but they're not. They're a progressive metal band with heavy Porcupine Tree influences as well as some Ghost Reveries-era Opeth. They're not exactly the sum of their influences yet, but it's still pretty good.

Sarmat, another New York jazz-fusion experimental death-metal debut LP this week
bassist from Imperial Triumphant
got the ball rolling with a 17m jam session EP in April that's has me hyped

didn't know Sigur Ros are still around. Some sweet artworks this week

Demon of the Fall
06.15.23
Sigur Ros and QOTSA in the same week would have been monumental for me once upon a time, either way I am still intrigued / moderately hyped for Sigur. Less so for QOTSA but we will see I guess.

And I will be checking the Sarmat LP as promoted by Azazzel above ^

Demon of the Fall

it was very out of the blue. Some kind Sputter alerted me to it the other week, before it was even up on RYM's database (I checked). No messing around

Origami Angel - The Brightest Days (mixtape) is also out this week and it's exceptional.

Also

Home Is Where- the whaler. Also out, just listening now, and it's also excellent.

Plugging two here:

Boris / Uniform - Uniform has done a couple splits with The Body and after opening for Boris starting working together on some tracks.

Heavenward - If you're into Teenage Wrist, the original lead vocalist has a new band-- it's the same genre (fuzzy alternative shoegaze). TW moved their drummer (i think) to vocals on the most recent LP (earth is a black hole). If you didn't notice it's because they sound pretty similar.

Love the new sound Ben Howard is working with - first listen def gave the impression of a strong AOTY contender. Also 100% a summer album - most obvious one of those I have listened to released in 2023 so far.

@gschwen the boris/uniform collabo is really fucking good

I already bumped one of their threads, but also Royal Thunder has a new one today and it's really good too.

I know this isn't the best place to post this, but I found no other options. I just created this account and the only reason I made it is to contact one of the moderators to ask if a review I wrote could be deleted. It's EXTREMELY cringe and it's legitimately been haunting me for the past decade. I'm really desperate for any help to get rid of it. Can someone please respond?
