Excited for As Everything Unfolds and Bell Witch.Tentatively excited for Liv Kristine because it's co-written with the guy who co-wrote a lot of the songs on Theatre of Tragedy's Aegis album.

I've been wondering about that Pestifer band on and off for the last month. I couldn't remember their name but I wanted to revisit them because their last album had some sick stuff on it. And then I thought, oh well, if they ever release something new I'll probably be able to find them again. And here they are!

Boney - you might like the new Rose City Band, their stuff is usually enjoyably mellow pastoral psychedelia, I will be checking the new one anyway

Kinda curious what an everything but the girl album sounds like in 2023 but I’ll let johnnny test drive it first

JohnnyoftheWell
04.21.23
Heard the first four songs last night before wiping out and it sounds, um, exactly like what Everything But The Girl would probably sound like anyway if they'd been releasing albums ever since Temperamental and adjusting to each wave of trends as it came and went. In a good way, but need to dig in properly

DadKungFu
04.21.23
Gonna be my first merz in a few years let’s see how it goes

Willie
04.21.23
@Johnny: Does this mean they finally sent you the promo?

JohnnyoftheWell

Yes sorry - got it yesterday but didn't realise til late and forgot to check in!

Willie
04.21.23
I'm just glad you finally got it. These were not the easiest PR people I've ever dealt with. They didn't CC me when they sent it or even tell me they were going to.

PotsyTater
04.21.23

Fact-pilled

Willie
04.21.23
@Jasdevi087: it's supposed to be co-written by the guy who co-wrote a lot of Aegis by Theatre of Tragedy. Whether that means anything after this many years is another question.

Jasdevi087
04.21.23
true, again maybe that'll mean something, maybe it wont

I just saw on her website that she describes herself as a "holistic vocal coach" and am now certain it's gonna blow

Willie
04.21.23
Holy Shit. Her and Meg Myers should hook up...

What is holistic voice?
Holistic Voice Therapy is a combination of voice, breath, movement and mindfulness techniques which helps the client to enter into a conversation with themselves to support them improve their health, life and reach their original blueprint of wellbeing. This is done without relying solely on words.

Jasdevi087
04.21.23
so just regular vocal coaching but marketed at people who believe in naturopathy

Purpl3Spartan

Solid week

PotsyTater
04.21.23
“ she describes herself as a "holistic vocal coach””

Thanks I hate it

Jasdevi087
04.21.23
there are two kinds of people

"holistic" is a signifier for "better for you"

"holistic" is a signifier for "this is a grift"

Dmax28
04.21.23
Saint Deamon released an album today that is some of the best power metal I ever heard. No joke. It doesn't feel derivative like a lot of the stuff that comes out.

Purpl3Spartan
04.22.23
A lot of these have been pretty disappointing, glad pizza picked up the slack for me
