folklore (deluxe version) [Explicit]evermore

Overwhelmed by all the stuff on your news feed about Taylor Swift? Does the task of listening to 32 tracks (49 counting the Long Pond Sessions, 51 counting the yet-to-be released Evermore bonus tracks) appear daunting? Well, there’s no longer any need to fear ostracizing from your social circles due to a humiliating lack of familiarity with T-Swizzle’s most recent masterpieces – folklore and evermore – which quite frankly make Abbey Road sound like dogshit. Lest you be caught in such an awkward situation as not knowing that ‘marjorie’ is a tribute to Swift’s late grandmother, give this brilliant mashup between her two 2020 LPs a listen. folkever (or morelore) delivers only the highest quality cuts from each album, and in a little under an hour. For best results, give this a spin while sipping Starbucks™ lattes in your very own privately owned ski lodge overlooking lush gardens and majestic mountain ranges.

In other words, here's the good stuff in an order that flows okay.

no peace or exile = neg

All the tracks with dudes singing on them suck so they were omitted

Exile is almost a good song but it's such a blue-baller. It builds and builds but never climaxes. I hadn't been that mad after hearing a song since "Glycerine" by Bush. Anyway Sowing I give your paragraph and playlist 11/10.

All the indie superstar features (so, The National and both ft. Bon Iver) feel tremendously shoehorned and I can't take them seriously. Exile is the best of the three, but it still isn't all that special.

how is the bridge where they trade vocals not a climax lol? one of the best parts on either album tbh

then again I find shit like dorothea and gold rush incredibly corny and irritating so I might just be in a different target audience than some of y'all. I think I'd be fine never hearing another song by Jack Antonoff again

Sowing

Those are literally the two best songs on evermore

And Antonoff is a pop God, you heathen

if he's so good why does fun. suck

Sowing

It's a trick question, they don't suck at all

They suck at least a lil bit
I say this as a fan

Honestly if you even know who antonoff is (for any reason other than hearing you dorks mention him every day) your music journey is already way off track

Did you seriously cut Last Great American Dynasty

Dorothea is gud corny and definitely belongs here but Gold Rush blows. Gonna bet that Antonoffcore peaked on Melodrama (or NFR if that's your spice) and that we will be collectively sick to death of it within 2 years

Tbh I agree with most of these inclusions + the dude features mostly sucking. Would defs rather throw this mix on than listen to either album, gj Sowing

Has this post been validated by ransoms on twitter yet?

I'd say Antonoffcore peaked with Melodrama, but NFR was a nice surge. Both albums are beautiful.

Rowan5215: That's the thing; the bridge is the most climactic part, but it just ascends for a while and then slowly fizzles out over the course of a full minute and a half. That said, I can believe that it actually works fine and my limbic system has simply been fried by listening to too much happy hardcore.

I'm not sure how Exile could have been written any better than it was, but I just hate the way Swift and Vernon sound together. I don't know why it just sounds incredibly try-hard.

read the title as "folkever/metalcore" and was very intrigued until i saw it was a taylor swift article

"I just hate the way Swift and Vernon sound together. I don't know why it just sounds incredibly try-hard."

I think the lack of in-person meetings due to COVID is a factor (and Tay-Tay literally picked Vernon from a list because she liked his voice). Granted, I've heard separately-recorded duets that sounded more natural than this, but it would certainly contribute to the lack of chemistry.

That makes sense Blonde. Sometimes I forget that this was recorded in isolation.

Maybe I will finally give this a try. Listened through Folklore once on the day of release and it was fine, pleasant background music, but did not invite me to repeat listens ... it all kinda just mushed together. thank you for cutting it down for me.

yeah weird to exclude the best song she's ever released, agreed

if it's the best song she's ever released why does it sound like every other song on either album huh
