hmm nothing that particularly stands out to me this week.
But is Alanis Morissette... good? I'm quite glad that name is never mentioned this side of the pond

I love Jagged Little Pill but honestly never bothered with any of her other works

Fair fair. Might checkout Shackleton tho, it's got some nice album art

Aside from Imperial Triumphant, it's a brutal DM week for me. I'll check Katalepsy and Disavowed and probably drop a review for one of these.

I can't find Sepulchral Curse in the database.

The new Psychedelic Furs tracks are reasonably promising

High hopes for Fontaines DC

All about Fountains D. C. this week. Last week another Irish band released a fantastic album very similar to Fontaines, and well worth checking. Silverbacks- Fad

The new Creeper singles have been disappointingly atrocious.

I can't help but think covid has crippled the back half of 2020's release schedule.

bloodshy
07.29.20
Wouldn't you think they're all being released right about now?

Lord(e)Po)))ts
07.29.20
^^^

It crippled the front half, it was very observable with all the delays

MiloRuggles
07.30.20
Richter's new album will make a perfect comedown from a new Imperial Triumphant album

Nocte

--Wouldn't you think they're all being released right about now?--

I might have been a touch vague, but I meant the year is essentially a dud due to the mood, delayed releases, similar marketing ideas (i.e. "covid makes people said so here's some music"), number of albums I'd normally have heard this year compared to previous years.

Dunno, just the mood I'm in.

Fontaines D.C. ♥

SlothcoreSam
07.30.20
The new Frank Turner/NOFX split is also out this week, and it's a heap of fun

theBoneyKing
07.30.20
There were some delays early on but I do wonder if we’ll soon hit the point where we start running out of releases that were recorded pre-covid.

bloodshy
07.30.20
Yeah, it's kind of weird to think about the replay value of covid- related albums, and i get what you mean about the mood.

On a related note, one trick i found is if you don't like the lyrics, plug your ears while it's playing.

"but I do wonder if we’ll soon hit the point where we start running out of releases that were recorded pre-covid"

??? Obviously that's kind of inevitable but it's not like people havent been making tonnes of music DURING covid. Also I dunno where you guys are picking up so many covid themed albums but this year has been great for music and 99.9% of what I've listened to has not been about covid. This pandemic hasn't had entirely negative consequences, productivity for a lot of music makers has skyrocketed.

Feel like I’ll resolve to check the new Richter album then never actually get around to doing it. Also Alcatrazz? For real?

Demon of the Fall
07.31.20
Ah shag, forgot it was Friday. Easily done under the current circumstances. Every day is the fudging same etc.
