I might have been a touch vague, but I meant the year is essentially a dud due to the mood, delayed releases, similar marketing ideas (i.e. "covid makes people said so here's some music"), number of albums I'd normally have heard this year compared to previous years.

Dunno, just the mood I'm in.

There were some delays early on but I do wonder if we’ll soon hit the point where we start running out of releases that were recorded pre-covid.

Yeah, it's kind of weird to think about the replay value of covid- related albums, and i get what you mean about the mood.

On a related note, one trick i found is if you don't like the lyrics, plug your ears while it's playing.

??? Obviously that's kind of inevitable but it's not like people havent been making tonnes of music DURING covid. Also I dunno where you guys are picking up so many covid themed albums but this year has been great for music and 99.9% of what I've listened to has not been about covid. This pandemic hasn't had entirely negative consequences, productivity for a lot of music makers has skyrocketed.
