Pretty yawn-worthy week. I'll hope to find a diamond in the rough between Clairo, Cross Record, Francis Lung, The Harmaleighs, Have Mercy, and Holy Holy - all have decent artwork for starters, and reside in my genre preferences. Shadi might be a decent hip-hop detour for me, seems promising...same with Siavash Amini for my fix of electronica. No guarantees this week though, could be a total strike-out.

russian circles and IDLES' "I Dream Guillotine" are about all this week has going for it in my eyes

SowingSeason
07.29.19
isn't that idles release just a single?

Ashtiel
07.29.19
yes, but nonetheless

Slex
07.29.19
Clairo, Holy Holy, Russian Circles and Slaughter Beach Dog all register a check out for me at the least

DoofDoof
07.29.19
The Volbeat is gonna be a bit of a peaky blinder according to the cover art

Skillet are hiding behind a shield - that makes sense

luci
07.29.19
i really dig "bags" by clairo so i'll be checking the album

ProjectFreak
07.29.19
I am here for Russian Circles

DoofDoof
07.29.19
I'll check the Russian Circles but never majorly excited by them - anything above a 3 rating will be a pleasant surprise

Lucman
07.29.19
Gotta check Skillet for the laughs. Have Mercy could be good, I liked their previous record.

ProjectFreak
07.30.19
I can't handle Skillet anymore. Their old stuff has some gems but they're just the worst butt rock now

Nocte
07.30.19
Not much going on here.

Dewinged
07.30.19
Russian Circles and maybe that jazz record, the rest looks indeed yawn inducing.

Scheumke
07.30.19
I guess I'll check Russian Circles and Northlane to see if it's anything interesting. Might spin the new Volbeat for the giggles and fun time, but that's about it I guess. Ah who knows, maybe I'll check the singles for some that look interesting.

@Sowing, question/idea: How much work would it be to make a weekly spotify playlist with the singles of the albums that come out each week (pretty much every album here already has a single out)? Would be cool to have one handy to just skip through the singles and check what's upcoming each week. Just an idea, if its too much work or if I'm the only one who would enjoy this than nevermind and I'll get off my lazy ass and make one for myself haha. Thought it might be a cool idea to quickly explore some new releases :)

luci
07.30.19

Minushuman24
07.30.19
signals midwest it is i suppose. Another slow week

TheSupernatural
07.31.19
Pumped for Russian Circles, curious about Northlane and Have Mercy

Dewinged
07.31.19
My goodness, just listening to some of the singles of some of the bands and this feels like "boost your objectivity for free" week.

Plenty of 1s incoming.

Scheumke
07.31.19
I did some pickings of the singles and there were a couple of pleasant surprises tbh. Will listen to Holy Holy, Mwenso & the Shakes and the Teskey Brothers as a result.

Scheumke
07.31.19
But yeah, some were just shite

Dewinged
07.31.19
Northlane and Skillet are probably gonna go straight to the guillotine.

Scheumke
07.31.19
I thought the dancable metalcore style was all the rage in Japan Dewi (Crossfaith and the like)? Or am I mixing things up here? New Northlane should do well here, but I can image people really disliking that style. I thought the single was kinda enjoyable but I have a high tolerance for that type of cheese.

Dewinged
07.31.19
Oh it is, just not for me ;)

Get Low
07.31.19
I hype for the one banger that Skillet has on all of their albums.

tyman128
07.31.19
there’s always the one banger that makes it a 1.5/2 instead of a 1

nightbringer
07.31.19
The singles from that jazz album sound pretty sweet to me. I have very little context for jazz though lol.

Divaman
07.31.19
I'm seeing Berlin in a few weeks, so I guess I'll check out their new album.

joshuahuntkc
08.01.19
very excited for Tyler Childers

klap
