And what do you mean slow week?! Lots of interesting stuff is coming out this week! (and the next!)

I meant for the blog. It would look bad on the blog if it was just a series of "Sputnik News" posts, so if no one has posted anything I try to get something on there to break up the news posts.

Oh I see - fair enough. My bad for not understanding *sheepish grin*

Is the album worth listening to if I thought BCASL was meh and SC blew?

Willie

It's worth listening to if you liked their Images and Words style. If you liked the more metalized style of the last few albums then you might be disappointed.

He mostly sticks to one spot and stares at his bass.

"I know there aren't a ton of Dream Theater music videos, but does Myung move anything other than his fingers (and maybe his hair)? Does he move at all live?"

He honestly doesn't. I watched these guys live when they opened for Iron Maiden in Ottawa last year, and in the 100+ pictures I took in all of them he was roughly in the same spot.

The way Myung plays bass is impressive, to say the least.

In a DT live in Thessaloniki a few years ago, for some monutes, all i did was watching Myung's fingers raging....

I saw them live in Portland. Portnoy spit into the crowd several times. I was amazed that the spit made it over his bandmates.

^ Clearly, poor Mike Mangini has a lot to live up to.

James looks kind of like my creative writing professor if she had a beard.

This song was really really good untill the "hurr durr methul riff". This band would be so much better if they ditched the modern metal influence entirely and sticked to the stuff they were doing on Images And Words and Awake. This is way too fast.

^Unfortunately, I doubt Roadrunner would agree.

another song ruined by labries vocals sigh

LaBrie has this problem with letting all of the words in the song slosh into one vowel that changes pitch. He does it more often live.
