Lots of good shit this week. I heard something about a Radiohead album dropping Saturday... bets on how many reviews we have by Sunday?

Nagrarok

I'd say 10 is a good estimate for the first day.

Crysis
02.14.11
My bet is 8 reviews on the first day, 3 of which will be staff/contrib, 2 will be decent/good user reviews, and 3 will be lolbad reviews.

Didn't know Deicide was streaming their album.

New Armageddon Dildos sucks

Willie

Really? I heard a 30-second part of one song and thought it sounded cool. I have the promo, but haven't actually listened yet. What's wrong with it?

Pretty good week. I'd be interested in reviews for Deceide, Yuck and PJ Harvey.

...And Radiohead, but I wont have to ask for that.

Armageddon Dildos' new album is actually pretty sweet

If anybody likes The Project Hate, you'll be happy to know that they've released another version of the same album (again). Admitedly, it's better than previous releases, but if they kept writing the same album over and over eventually they had to start getting things right.

Willie
02.14.11
They're that band with the stupid song about trees; right?

I heard that single they released earlier this year and thought it was total snooze...is the full album any better?

Not really. Death metal with electronic passages that come from nowhere and last too long. It's more melodic and the solos are cool, but they still aren't combining the genres the way they could.

It sucks not because it's bad, but I just found it boring.

And that Project Hate album is pretty cool. It was my first experience with the band.

All I needed to know to not care about it then. Thanks Willie.

I mean there's still a good chance that you'd like it. It's like Dagoba trading the metalcore influence for some industrial/electronics -- and with a backing female vocalist too. It's not bad, just not as good as it could/should be.

Metalstyles
02.14.11
The single souned like Dagoba minus all the parts that make them cool ;)

Willie
02.14.11
The.... metalcore?

Metalstyles
02.14.11
...

What I am trying to convey here, Trey, is that the single sounded like Dagoba on a bad day and with a female vocalist. Basically, needed a lot more energy, less cheesy melodies and less pointless wandering.

Willie
02.14.11
haha, don't be offended. Their older albums were less melodic and more aggressive/energetic.

Metalstyles
02.14.11
Haha, what makes you think I was offended Trey? Seriously, I thoroughly enjoy your humor bro, it's one of a kind and your comments actually make me laugh. Plus, they're intelligent!...in a way.

I haven't heard their earlier stuff, any album I should look into, taking into account that I'd appreciate an energetic DM/industrial sound and would not appreciate the cheesy melodies found on the new single.

Willie
02.14.11
Yeah, try The Lustrate Process.

02.14.11
Tbh that new Project Hate album doesn't have that much electronics in it.

Metalstyles
02.14.11
Alright cool, I've actually been meaning to get some more DM/industrial stuff lately, thanks.

Willie
02.14.11
I just listened to it with headphones on and they're definitely still there and they definitely still aren't integrated as well as they could be.

bloc
02.14.11
Funnily enough, I was a bit disappointed with the lack of electronics push to the front. Good album still.

Willie
02.14.11
I think I liked that it was a little less chaotic and dense. Someone needs to review it so we can move the conversation ;)

02.14.11
Haha, you're asking the wrong guy!

Willie
