Flaming Lips Name Double Album

2009-06-17 by PuddleSwimmer | 11 Comments
Frontman for the Flaming Lips, Wayne Coyne, tells the BBC's 6 Music Log that he's ready to put that cherry ontop of their new delicious double album, Embryonic, which is due in the already-magical month of September.
Only a few songs are left to name and a track order has to be made.

Meanwhile, Coyne describes the double-experience, hinting that it's not so easy: "Because we want to go in so many strange directions and sometimes we’re unfocused and sometimes we’re just so wishy-washy."

And then again in food version: "I think it must be like being a cook in the kitchen you’re preparing this great thing but by the time it’s ready you’re sick of it because you’ve been smelling it, you’ve got it in your hair and in your fingers and all that."

The product will definitely be abundant, but here's hoping that it will be mouth-watering and satisfying.

Flaming Lips are brilliant. At War with the Mystics wasn't great, but everything else they've done is great, so i'm hoping this will be good

Prodcut sounds like an awesome Prog/ambient/techno band.

btw I was real hungry when I wrote this. I forgot my wallet in my car so I can't order food from here at work and I want some grilled cheese

Has there been any info on how the albums sonic layout? I'd be interested to see 1 side rock orientated and the other electronic.

After the somewhat disappointing At War with the Mystics, I'm very keen for a new, fresh Lips album. Bring on September.

I didn't like At War...either.I gave it away.
They are still brilliant, the rest of their work is raw, tender, fragile yet immense.I've seen them live from Soft Bulletin onwards. They don't need the theatrics but it is fun....and they do fun like no other.
