Sepultura Recording New Album

2008-05-21 by Seek and Destroy | 10 Comments
Brazilian thrashers Sepultura have just entered the studio to begin recording their new album, which is based on the Anthony Burgess novel "A Clockwork Orange". An October release via SPV is expected.

Interesting this will be the first Sepultura album to not feature a Cavalera brother, after Igor Cavalera's departure from the band in 2006. The new album will instead have Jean Dolabella on drumming duties.

It will be interesting how this will turn out due to the lack of the Cavaleras...

Great movie but I really don't see how this band could ever make it into a good album.

sounds pretty stupid to me. thrash doesnt feel like the fitting genre to me. but maybe just maybe, it will work.

They aren't thrash anymore. Or relevant, so who cares. Adapting the novel is just an excused for them to make stupid noises.

I didn't know the Calaveras weren't going to be on this, this is probably gonna blow...

You had to have known that at least Max wouldn't be on this considering he's been out of the band for over a decade. And Igor couldn't save their new stuff from being terrible if he was God himself.

The name 'Sepultura' to be tarnished even further... are there any original members even left now?

Well, the bassist has been with them since the beginning, but I don't think he's ever been a big influence within band, and Andreas Kisser, who only joined them for the second album.

It just isn't Sepultura without Max or Igor
