Nice pop track
|

everything i hate about modern metalcore
|
| |
vocals need more editing. not processed enough
|
| |
Definitely like this more than Soft Spine. Really glad we're finally hearing Josh sing
|
| |
Great single imo. Spritbox have always handled the more melodic mainstream stuff well (though how much of it is carried by Courtney's voice is a big YMMV), and this song might be one of their best in that realm. Love hearing Josh on the chorus too, easily the better of the singles between this and Soft Spine
|
| |
Oh yeah they are finally using Josh! Fine popcore indeed
|
| |
I hope they don't release half the album before release again. Track is pretty good.
|
| |
still wishing that she'll start belting out choruses in a higher octave
|
| |
I don't get why people care about bands releasing half a record before release. Just don't listen to all the singles and wait for the full release?
|
| |
@GetLow
Courtney doesn't have the highest range and personally I love that she uses very specific moments to push her vocals like at the end of this or Circle With Me. I think the male harmony being the higher one in this is really cool actually.
|
| |
This band continues to do absolutely nothing for me.
|
| |
nice to already have something to look forward to early next year
|
| |
While the track's good, there's still so much potential here to do some really cool stuff with trade-off in vocals; here's hoping at least one song on the new album features that. As usual though, the funky guitar riffs help drive the song
|
| |
Everything I love about modern metalcore ! Really different from the other released track, can't wait, although I'm kinda disappointed that Jordan Fish didn't produce this album, I was 100% he was ?
|
| |
vocals need more editing. not processed enough [2]

Oh good, I can't wait for certain radio stations to beat this into the ground.

Nice to hear Josh again but this is so soulless. Also drummer needs to tighten that floor tom head
|
| |
Just unleash Josh already.
|
| |
everything i hate about modern metalcore
+1
It all feels so sanitized and compressed.
|
| |
@GetLow I agree. She had some more impressive vocals (given her range) back on their self-titled album.
As someone who likes a decent amount of Spiritbox material, this is very boring. I know not to expect banger riffs anymore, but everything in this song is bland.
|
| |
krysta cameron forever
|
| |
Josh needs to have a much bigger vocal spot in this band. Dudes a beast
|
| |
Jesus christ this feels waaaaay to clean and processed.
|
| |
it is spiritbox
|
| |
Feel like all I can hear in this mix is drums and vocals.
Guitars and bass may as well be:
0-00–000-0-0 etc.
And I kind of liked bits of Eternal Blue.
|
| |
band is overrated and trying to follow every music fad just to pander
|
| |
I’m here to be pandered with fads. Give it to me SB
|
| |
i can get being into the ethereal-ish vibes of this band, though personally im on the side of it being too polished and over-engineered. but the song writing is just so.... blah
|
| |
Yeah I wish I could like the band because each member is great at what they do other than song writing. I'm always bored listening to them and their live show had me dozing off and extra annoyed because they replaced ETID on that tour.
|
| |
Why are all you guys so hypercritical? I don't understand.
Production is bad-ass. It's clean and tight but still sounds natural and human - indeed high-polished.
Only thing I would complain here is that it's not very innovative. It's a modern metalcore song in the style of Spiritbox. But overall, no surprises and nothing outstanding.
PS: I don't like the added vocals of Josh. Courtney is the signature vocalist of Spiritbox and overall a standout vocalist in the scene. Why they mix that vocals now with some generic, male vocals does not give anything to it imo. It just makes that thing more bland - and generic.
|
| |
Can someone please explain to me how this is progressive? If anything I feel like this is RE-gressive lmao
|
| |
I love the random users that only crop up in news articles
"Why are all you guys so hypercritical? I don't understand."
Lmao

Spirit Box is real middle ground for me and my non-metalhead wife. I think they are great and continue to make great music that is simple and effective. She's got pipes.
|
| |
They scratch my butt rock/metal itch because they lean a little heavier. Having Courtney is just lagniappe.
Agree this is mega processed but to me they have been for a while and that doesn’t bother me To be honest. That’s Mike’s sound at this point and honestly they sound just like it live
Tl;dr they scratch my butt
|
| |
Spiritbox has had its shining moments—this isn’t one of them. 'Perfect Soul' feels like a step toward mainstream appeal, which might mark a turning point for the band. Whether this shift spells downfall or wider popularity is subjective; personally, I’m leaning toward the former.
|
| |
SB please go back to your self-titled sound of 2017 :"(

Sixdjent None The Richer
|

SB chase after every music fad. Should’ve stuck with their debut djent sound.
|
| |
why tf does Fear only have a 3.6 avg?
|
| |
It's the same rating as Eternal Blue tbf
|
| |
You can't help but to compare one Spiritbox track to another and when a new song hits, an older one just falls out. Just gimme an EP of their best 6 tracks and that's their business move. Band all around is what I like to describe as a depressed hair metal band.
|
| |
Lol, I like that description
|
| |
@swaggubeef lol to this. Perfect Soul is just as mainstream as Ultraviolet or Too Close/Too Late off Fear of Fear. They've always been a more mainstream band from Blessed Be and Rule of Nines onward, they just do the mainstream sound really fucking well
|
| |
haters are out in full force today, damn :/
|
| |
If spiritbox ever has zero haters then you'll know I'm dead
|
| |
They aren't Norma Jean that's for sure
|
| |
And thank God for that
|
| |
Christcore drooled and pissed itself so Spiritbox could run
|
| |
Take a nap buddy

glad i'm not the only one who heard "there she goes" in the chorus

Tsunami Pee
|
| |
This is alright.
|
| |
this band somehow manages to become more sterile with every subsequent release
|
| |
this shit is nuckin futs
|
| |
God we’ve fallen so far from actual good metalcore. Please give me back the early 2000’s at the gates worship. I don’t want to shit on what other people enjoy. These guys are popular. But I’ve definitely become a boomer when it comes to music.
|
| |
The old stuff will still be there for you bud

Yes it is.
