bet this will be as trash as cyr or oceania
|
| |
unsurprisingly it's awful
|
| |
33 songs?
|
| |
Why can’t they just make a good rock n roll song that isn’t lame pop rock? One of the sharpest rise and falls of any band. Their early albums are among the best in all of rock.
|
| |
Song is boring but the production is better than anything this side of Oceania.
|
| |
Pretty boring track, but lord help me, I'll probably still end up tuning in.
I feel like if Billy Corgan wasn't always trying to craft some grandiose, bombastic epic, we might actually get a consistent, solid album again, rather than a handful of decent tracks scattered across a ::checks notes:: trilogy of releases. My man definitely seems to have taken the wrong lessons away from the heyday of Mellon Collie, and these days, his reach very much exceeds his grasp.
|
| |
I feel it's incredibly great of the band and very unrecognized that they decided to divide the 33 tracks into three separate releases as they recognize that it would be very inhumane to subject their listener to four hours of their music in a row.
|
| |
One of my first thoughts upon waking up today was me wondering what it would taste like to eat shit. I feel there is a sign here, I just need to connect the dots.
|
| |
"mmm it's sad when the spark for making music dies but the compulsion remains"
There are certain pitfalls when a narcissist fronts a band.
I guarantee you Billy still thinks he's making music better than anyone else out there.
|
| |
ashamed to say i kinda dig this, hope this is at least better than CYR
|
| |
Shit song, no chorus, meandering guitar with zero riff, no solo, no anything really.
|

undildo thy ears, it's time for a change, neekafuck

So if they're being released 11 weeks apart from each other, and this single is from the second act... why not release a single from the first act if this one isn't coming until 2023? Doesn't make much sense
Song is ok
|
| |
Yeah makes no sense lol
|
| |
Shockingly I don't mind this, it's kind of fun. I haven't dug a Pumpkins song since Silvery Sometimes. And before that, I hadn't dug anything since, like, Adore.
|
| |
The three acts will be released 11 weeks apart from each other…but not only that! Each track will be debuted weekly in his 33 episode podcast (Thirty-Three with William Patrick Corgan) where he'll dive into each song as well as talk about 33 other songs from the SP back catalog along with guests. I'm 22 mins into the first episode and oh boy, it's exactly what you expect it to be. I'm cautiously optimistic with very, very low expectations but as a lifelong fan I just can't help myself. S/T Theme sounds kinda cool?

When we're talking about Billy Corgan I'm not sure if this is really a joke or not.
|
| |
This is one of the most average songs I have ever heard.
|
| |
Adore was their last great album. It’s been all downhill from there. However, William Patrick Corgan solo albums were pretty good.

Sounds like a slowed down riff from Metallica’s “shortest straw”
|
| |
What fuckin year is it
|
| |
Agreed there is no chorus wtf!? Can we at least get an arpeggiated chord or something pretty? what the actual fk its like he's forgotten what a song feels like
|
| |
Haven't heard any pumpkins since Machina honestly so this was weird.
Sounds like solo Corgan singing over a super inoffensive Muse-like jam.
Not sure if this is meant for the dance floor or a pro-wrestlong intro.
Not horrible, but just sorta nothing.
|
| |

More like Eye of the Beholder
|
| |
More like Eye of the Beholder [2]
Yep, you’re right
|
| |
I don't mind it. Music video is a total cringefest though lol
|
| |
This song sucks
|
| |
This some bullshit
|
| |
I kidnapped Billy Corgan’s cat and made him cry because this sucks so bad.
|
| |
Billy Corgan used to be so good at writing riffs, what the hell happened?
|
| |
Resentment of the music industry fried his brain.
|
| |
am I the only one that isn’t surprised that a mew smashing pumpkins son totally blows ?
|
| |
can he fucking stop saying things are supposed to be sequels to vastly better musical material from nearly 30 years ago?
|
| |
How many sequel albums or songs aren’t complete ass? I remember when Muse made that sequel to citizen erased and it sucked too
|
| |
ok grandpa
|
| |
that song was fucking putrid
|
| |
This song and riff is way better than anyone realizes.

too bad this band never released anything after Adore
|
| |
I sincerely don't understand the hate for Machina 1 or 2, both those records are fantastic and original. Especially 2, Here's to the Atom Bomb is one of their best songs ever. Oceania too was a great late career album, it is super overlooked. Zeitgeist, Shiny, Monuments (minus a couple decent songs), Cyr and whatever the fuck this song was, yeah they deserve all the hate in the world. Its pure uninspired, hot, steaming garbage. At this point, im disappointed Billy is putting the Pumpkins name on it. Just make a new band or do this shit solo, dude. They all just want money
|
| |
"This song and riff is way better than anyone realizes."
I hear you. I thought the same thing watching that performance. Sounds much better than the recorded version imo.
"I sincerely don't understand the hate for Machina 1 or 2…"
100%, Machina is excellent. Zeitgeist starts strong, the first 6 songs are pretty great but then I agree it really devolves from there.
|
| |
Agreed that Beguiled sounded way better live.
