Fuck man this blows.
I never really loved the band too much but the guy knew his shit when it came to metal. I’ve found so many good bands through some of the lists he made
| |
ur kidding..... my first show was with my bro and they were headlining
| |
Listening to TBDM on repeat for god knows how long. RIP Trevor
| |
Wow RIP
| |
sucks big time, definitely one of the most prolific guys in metal and super distinctive style.
| |
The Black Dahlia Murder were one of my very first loves in extreme metal growing up, and one of the very few from that era of my life that still hold up as being as good as I remember them. They dropped great album after great album in my eyes, with the pinnacle being Nocturnal which I still consider a classic. That's high praise coming from someone who's as snobby as I am when it comes to extreme metal.
I can't even put into words how heartbroken I am, and how out of the blue this feels. It doesn't even feel real. Fuck man, I have to admit I'm legit crying right now. Fuck.
Rest in peace Trevor.
| |
First time I saw them was Ozzfest 2005. Seen them many times since, SO GUTTED he passed. Rest In Power to a legend.
| |
so sad
he was such an amazing guy and vocalist
| |
Holy shit. This sucks man.
I haven’t listened to much TBD, but he always seems like a cool dude from what I seen. I really hope the band and his family are doing ok.
| |
Truly heartbreaking, rest in peace
| |
The back-to-back-to-back releases of Unhallowed, Miasma, and Nocturnal were some of the most repeated listens during high school for me.
Trevor's vocal style and ability to go from highs to lows so interchangeably awestruck my friends and I. He had such a unique and talented voice. And his lyrical ability was equally fascinating... so creative, fantastical, and dark.
Such a damn shame to be robbed of him so early and young...
| |
I can't fucking process this.
| |
one of my first favorite metal band years and years ago, he also was uncanny live, big RIP
| |
What the fuck
| |
Wow, horrible news.
| |
Oh, fuck. RIP
| |
RIP, such horrible news.
| |
"It was his life to be your show" one of the nicest things you can say about a musician imo.
| |
Huge RIP. Been listening to these guys for over a decade, so this one really hurts
| |
Only 41 as well, wtf.
| |
Through every older, more underground group I discovered I had him and The Black Dahlia Murder to thank. His vocals had such a frenetic pace and his range couldn't be beat. Lyrically speaking he weaved dark tapestries. He was poetic, and brutal. I'll be marathoning their discog today. Windmilling the tears away. R.I.P
| |
Gone too soon. RIP
| |
RIP ):
| |
Noooooooooooooo!!!!!!
| |
This was truly shocking, i could hardly believe it.
| |
R.I.P. Trevor you will be missed
| |
Such terrible news, loved these guys in high school and Trevor was always a great guy
Huge RIP
| |
I don't think I can ever listen to the song Receipt again.
| |
terrible news. heartbroken for his family. Rest in peace, friend.
| |
Damn, this is such a bummer. Death is rough to deal with, but suicide brings it up to a whole new level. Condolences to the fans of BDM.
RIP
| |
Heart wrenching. RIP
| |
fucking rip. terrible news
| |
This legit broke my heart to read today. R.I.P. man, awesome group and a fantastic vocalist
| |
Still in disbelief over this... guys, reach out to your friends and family. Too many people struggle in silence. RIP Trevor.
| |
insane...RIP hard
| |
Very sad... Heartfelt condolences to those in his life and those he's inspired.
| |
This is so fucked up to read. Hard RIP to a trve GOAT
| |
He seemed like a cool dude, i really feel sorry for all his fans and all the people close to him
| |
Man this is absolutely horrible. Trevor always seemed like such a vibrant and wholesome man. It's unfortunate some people deal with these hidden and dark pressures. Definitely gonna jam in remembrance.
| |
Big bummer for the scene. Will rip some of his albums in memoriam
| |
You gotta be fucking kidding me. Hardest hitting death since Chester, BDM was a huge gateway band for me as well so this just sucks beyond words and wish I got to see them live beforehand. RIP to a legit dude.
| |
41 is too young to go. I can't say i am the biggest TBDM fan but the video for "What a horrible night..." never failed to crack me up. Really sad news. RIP.
| |
RIP, one of my favorite vocalists
| |
what the actual fuck
| |
Wow. I really thought I misread when I saw this at first. Huge RIP. Dude was definitely one of my favorite vocalists when I was driving into the heavier stuff. Big loss for the metal community and although I never got to speak one on one with him he seemed like a really awesome genuine dude from the times I'd seen him interact at shows. TBDM was also the headliner of my first show as well. I think a lot of people probably have BDM as their first metal show just off of the sheer influence they had back in the late 2000's.
| |
:/
| |
I'll always remember the music video where he slaps his beer belly along to the beat
| |
With the heartburn tattoo too
| |
oh no =((((((((((((((((((((((((
| |
"I'll always remember the music video where he slaps his beer belly along to the beat"
Yeah that's the one I quoted "What a Horrible Night to Have a Curse". Just re-watched it again, the beer belly slap, the spontaneous shirtless headbanging and dance floor trolling, we truly lost a legend.
| |
I just realized it's the one on the news article, good morning Dewi.
| |
Holy fuck I can't believe this
Huge RIP to the vocalist of one of my favourite metal bands
| |
This is really tragic news. Thinking of my brother today, Dahlia is his favourite band and I know he looked up to Trevor. He put me on to them and their first three or so albums were a big part of my high school soundtrack. RIP Trevor.
| |
the vid is such a fucking classic. pivotal in creating that silly, carefree DM
| |
I used to have the touring DVD they put that the video for that was from. Just guys being dudes in a van across the country.
| |
Really hard to comprehend this news. Trevor was an absolute powerhouse of charisma and stage presence. Always seemed so down to earth and a genuinely awesome human. RIP hard
| |
So sad. Tell your friends you love them whenever you can
| |
Rest in power Trevor, 41 is too young. Still can't fucking believe it. Jamming with TBDM discography whole day today.
| |
Really didn’t see this coming. Ugh, so many greats passing away within the past couple of years.
| |
So fucked up.
| |
All my heroes are dying. This is one of the hardest felt RIPs I've felt in my life. Trevor introduced me to so much OSDM. My love for Left Hand Path and Clandestine is because of him. He was the GOAT and gone way too fucking soon.
| |
Jesus christ, this one really hurts. These guys played a substantial role in the development of my heavy music tastes. Trevor was a monster of a vocalist, one of the most distinct voices out there. RIP, fucking legend.
| |
fuck man still cant get over this RIP m8
| |
gutted by this
| |
I think I have seen them a couple times and remember they were great. Never got too into them but my friends I still know will be gutted, probably already are.
| |
This is so fucking sad. Trevor was a top tier vocalist and frontman. Saw them twice live, always a great show and Trevor spent lots of time talking to the fans afterwards
| |
One of the very first extreme metal bands I ever listened to. Rest In Peace Trevor. my heart is broken.
| |
Tim Feerick last month. 34 years old.
Now Trevor Strnad 41 years old.
Rest in Peace guys. But really, you could have stayed a bit longer.
| |
Fuck man.
| |
these last few years have been just great.
| |
If by great you mean the absolute fucking shits, then yes agreed.
(I am aware that was sarcasm)
| |
lol
| |
41. At his peak. RIP
| |
Sad day RIP
| |
RIP
| |
This is really sad. RIP
| |
shit. 41 is way too damn young. RIP
| |
RIP
| |
this is unbelievable. tbdm always has that goofy irreverent energy that has cheered me up 100s of times if i feel low. for someone like him to have been suffering such misery is so sad it makes me feel sick. RIP
| |
Very sad. RIP
| |
No fucking way.
Span the Majesty DVD so many times over the years. Saw TBDM live a bunch of times. Monster vocalist. Funny fucker. Great guy.
My mind is out of the window. Cannot fucking process this properly.
Rest in peace, Trevor. Feel for the TBDM family.
| |
Rest In Peace. We will miss you. fuck man
| |
Rest In Peace, you fucking king. A massive inspiration to many young aspiring metal fans.
| |
Reading all those bands replying to Trevor's Death on FB, saying how big of an inspiration he was for them, is truly heart-breaking.
Please talk to someone if you have suicidal thoughts.
| |
RIP
| |
Fucking sucks. He was a great showman, I sow them twice. And he seemed such a nice guy...
RIP
| |
This is so fucking sad. He is one of the greatest metal vocalists ever. Such a nice guy who took time for anyone who came up to him. You could always tell he lived and breathed death metal.
If you struggle with suicidal thoughts please, please, PLEASE get help. I've been there. You can make it through as well.
| |
Damn, just heard about this! 41 yo is too young and he was obviously suffering. R.I.P.
| |
I'm taking this harder than I would have thought. I don't let celebrity deaths affect me but this is someone that had no signs of doing something like this. Absolutely shocked. What the fuck.
| |
Yeah idk, celebrity deaths are one thing, but Trevor was a huge part of the metal/music community which is obviously a huge part of all of our lives. He was relatable in how both goofy and humble he was, and it almost feels like a friend has died, compared to some famous celebrity who couldn't be more removed from their fanbase.
| |
this is terrible, rip
| |
RIP
| |
Terrible news to wake up to, RIP legend.
I watched them live in 2014 and what struck me the most aside from their music (which is great btw) is how they carry themselves, especially Trevor, they were all so goofy and different from how metal bands behave in general, had a great chat with them afterwards.
| |
Fuck. This one stings like a motherfucker. RIP.
| |
Few people were more committed to heavy metal than him, gonna miss him.
| |
RIP hard
| |
Truly crushing loss. One of the bands I've loved, and have been seeing live regularly, the longest. Never got old and always put me in a better mood. Just a huge, huge influence. RIP
| |
I caught Inferi and Entheos and Archspire last night and they all had some nice words to say about Trevor, you could tell they had all been influenced by him and BDM.
| |
Fuck man, this one hurts. Trevor was an amazing human and will be deeply missed. I've struggled with mental health my whole life and I finally started seeking help last month. Most men are still afraid to speak up when they're hurting. Please, if you or somebody you know are struggling, don't "man-up" and continue to fight. Seek the help that you need. Your life means more to others than you could possibly imagine.
Rest in peace Trevor.
| |
RIP man damn
band pretty much got me into dm
| |
Been a big fan since day one. R.I.P.
| |
Reading though the comments how much this band impacted the lives of so many people make this extra depressing and sad. R.I.P. Trevor.
| |
my facebook feed has just been bands saying how epic the dude was
| |
rip
| |
RIP
| |
Seeing how much love everyone had for Trevor makes this even harder to process. Fuck man, life just isn't fair sometimes.
| |
Haven't stopped listening to TBDM since I heard the news. Still can't process this.
| |
I hate that this keeps popping up on the front page cause it keeps reminding me how much this sucks.
| |
Travor was one a kind. Really sad news.
| |
Friggin' heartbroken.
| |
Fuck. RIP
| |
Terrible news. Been blasting some tbdm since hearing. Life is unexplainable sometimes.
| |
RIP
| |
Listened to these guys a bit back in high school. RIP
| |
One of the best shows I ever went to was seeing The Black Dahlia Murder play Unhallowed in full. Rest in peace.
| |
Unbelievable. Still remember watching them for the first time back in 2011. Such a hard RIP.
| |
So sad, first time I saw them was at Summer Slaughter in 2010 and was still getting into heavier stuff. They pushed me into Death Metal and really got me to branch out. Such a huge loss, the guy was a AMAZING vocalist and he ALWAYS killed it live! Such a great guy too! Very sad. RIP
| |
I knew something was gonna happen on Friday 13th lol. He probably chose that day because he liked horror stuff so much, how ironic. This sucks extreme ass since dude was actually one of the good vocalists and lyricists, unlike some celebrated ones that also died prematurely
| |
he died 2 days ago
| |
"He chose Friday the 13th because he enjoyed horror"
Way to make suicide like a gimmick lmao
Regardless he died 2 days ago
Been jamming some Nocturnal and Nightbringers lately. Forgot how wildly good TBDM are at their heights.
| |
"
I knew something was gonna happen on Friday 13th lol"
11pm bedtime?
| |
He passed away 2 days ago. He apparently committed suicide.
| |
Xfing getting the day wrong, trying to make suicide sound like a horror gimmick, and for some reason trashing other vocalists that have died. What a comment.
| |
lmao really is a trash comment
| |
he's jealous he cant vox like Trev
| |
RIP, so young...
| |
One of my close friends killed himself just over a week ago as well.
This whole decade can just fuck off, Jesus Christ...
TBDM got me through some tough times as a teen. RIP Greg and RIP Trevor.
| |
Damn, sorry to hear that man. Life can be brutal nowadays, worlds fucked beyond belief.
| |
Rest in Power Trevor...I still can't believe this. May you slay dragons and demons and party hard like a mad god in your afterlife.
| |
"I knew something was gonna happen on Friday 13th lol. He probably chose that day because he liked horror stuff so much, how ironic. "
I'm sure this is the last thing he was thinking about jackass
| |
he didnt die on the 13th jesus christ do people even fact check anymore? Mo go back to the forums
| |
nah it's boring over there
| |
lol
| |
sorry guys I know it came out wrong, I really am broken up about this, Trevor was great
unlike say, Mitch Lucker who wasn't
| |
ok stop
| |
really shitty dumb comments xfing
| |
"unlike say, Mitch Lucker who wasn't"
Cringe, you sound like an edgy 15 year old, shut up.
| |
that's really how I feel though, if being mature is pretending otherwise then I'd rather be 15 forever lol
| |
dunno why you need to bring up luker at all, it's not relevant and nobody cares if you're unmoved by someone else's death.
| |
Being mature is having a healthy level of empathy and not sounding like a dumb tryhard edgy brat.
| |
"if being mature is pretending otherwise"
Being mature is not bringing it up to begin with, you dipshit. Nobody here is talking about Mitch or any other vocalist. You brought up a dead guy just to shit on his life when it wasn't remotely relevant to the topic at hand. Fuck off already.
| |
Yeah what a shit comment tbh
| |
fuck you too bro
| |
You suck compared to me dude
| |
guys get off xfing
it's rude to bully the intellectually disabled
| |
Fucksake I had no idea this had happened. Hard RIP, he was one of greatest death metal vocalists of all time.
| |
this still sucks.
| |
Crazy to think it's already been a year. I think another TBDM marathon is in order \m/
| |
LETS GOOO
| |
