A new future for Arsis

2007-08-31 by Angmar | 18 Comments
Arsis have recently announced new information on their line up and upcoming album 'We are the Nightmare'.

Quote:
Unfortunately, we have decided to part ways with Mike Parks.

When James' voice went out a couple tours ago, Mike did us the biggest favor by joining and replacing James on vocals. I know I speak for everyone in Arsis when I say we couldn't imagine anyone else doing a better job. He sacrificed a lot to do this with us. If anyone owes him the amount of respect we do, it's the fans.

As shitty as it might be, we felt that with the new album right around the corner, we needed to move on with Arsis in the Arsis way -- with James back on vocals. We wish him nothing but the best, as we'll always be friends.

Arsis heads into the studio September 3rd, to begin recording 'We Are The Nightmare,' our third full length album, to be released on Nuclear Blast International. Watch out for us on the road in November with Enslaved and January with Exodus. Check our myspace for dates!

Cheers,

Noah/Arsis

This was probably the biggest, hyped band in the metal section. I will check this out, but Im not counting on them to do anything original.

ACOG is awesome. ADFD is awesome. But uhhh, united in regret...a few good songs, but also some really bad ones.

I hope this album is a return to form.

They've only managed to write two good songs. I don't have high hopes for this at all.

your face is two good songs.

Seriously, Arsis has 18 good songs.

All of ACOG, the title track of ADFD, and some of the songs on United in Regret.

You're poop if you don't like them. I'm looking at you Coke.

If you're referring to The Face of My Innocence and A Diamond For Disease, then I agree.

I am looking forward to this. Too bad they're just getting into the studio now though.

Didn't know they were recording already. I sure hope the new album is better than UIR, such a disappointment compared to the last two incredible releases.

UIR was their weakest release, but I still love it. I'm so happy that James is back on vocals... Mike Parks was complete garbage. I've seen live performances of them on YouTube and his vocals just don't fit at all. Darren's back up vocals were also atrocious.

I'm still incredibly stoked for the new album.

Arsis is incredible.

Unoriginal? If blending tech death, melo-death, grind, and thrash with epic, almost symphonic arrangements has been done this well before than I'll give it to you(and don't even try "Carcass" even though they delved into most of the aforementioned genres they never did so on one album).

mediocre?Well that's opinion, but the musicianship alone, whether you're into it or not is highly commendable. Not to mention the great lyrics and artwork. So try telling ACTUAL metal fans that Arsis is mediocre and see what happens.

Ok, so maybe you just can't get into them, probly cuz they don't have breakdowns or play some sort of opeth offshoot...but don't pretend to know what you're talking about.
