I like the here and now. I remember not liking at first all (i mean i was 20 and had just started listening to hollow crown, norma jean, ETID and the likes) but it grew on me so much so that I prefer to every architects album after it (except holy hell).
I never understood architects in that sense. Stylistically they always belonged in the metalcore category, why deciding to jump on another trend right now I don't know but we will see if it's a good album or not. so far i haven't been impressed

I have all expectations that the new record willbe shit, maybe not Reverence levels of shitty. More bland and dull with maybe 1-3 okay songs like most amity records. Popcorn music is all they have turned into for me

If the here and now chapter was completely cut out and released instead of this new stuff the core kids would be bowing down to their "inventive song writing and wild breakdowns", there would also be numerous channels with click bait titles like "THEYRE BACK!" or "HEAVY IS BACK!!", and of course the standard OMG face in the thumbnail

As somebody who loved Lost Forever and All Our Gods so much that I still thoroughly enjoyed the same but shittier version of it in Holy Hell, this new album sucks total ass so far.

I was wondering the same. The here and now came out too early when "core" was still hot and cool or whatever word you want to use to describe a trend (i mean I was in it too so i know how it is). so i'm wondering if that record fast forward 10 years would have gathered a more friendly reception

So this certainly isn't for old fans of the band and it can't even satisfy somebody who really enjoyed Holy Hell. So you have to wonder what % of current fans are enjoying this new direction.

It's pretty interesting how BMTH seem to be a step ahead of the genre, and that so many bands seem to be a year or two behind. Whether it's a good thing or bad, they seem to be prominent trend setters.
