These guys aren't even trying to fool anyone into believing that they haven't packed it in completely. Sleep inducing, but probably better than the other singles they've debuted thus far, only because this is actually trying to be a more mellow song, rather than just sounding flaccid.
| |
I thought this trend of becoming BMTH 2.0 died a while ago
| |
boring
| |
Maybe cos I've avoided all new BMTH like the plague I didn't HATE this. It's pretty wet though.
| |
This one rules.
| |
kinda cool i guess. pretty chill. solo was kinda neat
| |
*insert generic BMTH comparison comment*
| |
BAND IS SO BAD THE ARENA WAS EMPTY HAHAHAHAH
| |
Orchestral butt rock for the masses
| |
Trash song.
| |
Wannabe Demon Hunter with no heart.
| |
What the fuck steven
| |
Orchestral butt rock for the masses [2]
i am the masses
| |
is this a homage to Asia O'Hara?
| |
They are part of the machine now
| |
throw this band in the shitter
| |
they couldn't possibly all fit
| |
This is truly average but is better then animals and black lung. I kinda like this one though. The record is probably going to suck though
| |
I keep thinking... what if the here and now came out this year. 10 years later would the scene welcome it more warmly? Would it be received better than this upcoming record? I need to listen to the whole thing to offer an opinion but none of these three tracks has sparked any interest
| |
steak has a phat ass
| |
Tis true
| |
@sputniksweetheart
I know what you mean, the thing is even the band hate the here and now. They decided to follow a trend with that record and hate it because of that and they are doing the same thing now. Yet The here and now is quite underrated tbh
| |
The Here and Now is good man, overhated album
| |
Defiantly, its so catchy
| |
I like the here and now. I remember not liking at first all (i mean i was 20 and had just started listening to hollow crown, norma jean, ETID and the likes) but it grew on me so much so that I prefer to every architects album after it (except holy hell).
I never understood architects in that sense. Stylistically they always belonged in the metalcore category, why deciding to jump on another trend right now I don't know but we will see if it's a good album or not. so far i haven't been impressed
| |
I have all expectations that the new record willbe shit, maybe not Reverence levels of shitty. More bland and dull with maybe 1-3 okay songs like most amity records. Popcorn music is all they have turned into for me
| |
what or who is reverence sorry?
Idk it's 15 songs which seems a lot. So far the only one that i mildly liked is black lungs but 12 more songs like that... ehm..
you're right it's pretty dull unfortunately
| |
This is somewhere of an improvement honestly
| |
If the here and now chapter was completely cut out and released instead of this new stuff the core kids would be bowing down to their "inventive song writing and wild breakdowns", there would also be numerous channels with click bait titles like "THEYRE BACK!" or "HEAVY IS BACK!!", and of course the standard OMG face in the thumbnail
| |
As somebody who loved Lost Forever and All Our Gods so much that I still thoroughly enjoyed the same but shittier version of it in Holy Hell, this new album sucks total ass so far.
| |
ahahaah this comment is ON POINT :D
I was wondering the same. The here and now came out too early when "core" was still hot and cool or whatever word you want to use to describe a trend (i mean I was in it too so i know how it is). so i'm wondering if that record fast forward 10 years would have gathered a more friendly reception
| |
@DreamAgain: yeah, if you liked those two records and even holy hell then i don't think there's anything for you here sadly. I'm just wondering who this album is for really
| |
Reverence the last parkway drive record thats a dumpster fire.
But the song is making me half tempted to jam metalcore stuff today. Maybe ill just listen to leprous or Hundred Year Old man
| |
song's not good but what the hell is up with the vocal production on all these new singles? sam sounds so.. off
| |
@SputnikSweetheart: and I didn't even bring up their previous, and mostly better material. I'm not even going to waste breath on comparing this to Daybreaker. So this certainly isn't for old fans of the band and it can't even satisfy somebody who really enjoyed Holy Hell. So you have to wonder what % of current fans are enjoying this new direction.
| |
aaaah parkway drive! I haven't listened to them in soooo long!! He's doing guest vocals on a song from this record too haha
but hey, i wonder if record sales were actually good? maybe there's something we don't know
| |
Over produced, like all of their modern material
| |
@DreamAgain: I'm wondering the same exact thing. that why i brought up the here and now, as that record was thrashed by the fans who rightfully expected more of hollow crown (in fact a year later: daybreaker). This time is different obviously as we've all grown a bit older, but i'm still wondering who this is for
| |
Yea thats another thing thats annoying with the new architects its too polished
| |
I often forget how old architects sounded since all of their new stuff is such overly polished cookie cutter shit
| |
This album is gonna bomb hard isn't it lol
| |
"This album is gonna bomb hard isn't it lol"
Yes. I've stuck with them up until All Our Gods, but man... Holy Hell and now this. It's shaping up to be real bad. Like Three Days Grace with an orchestra. I might have to turn in my fan-card now lol
| |
no one gonna talk about daybreaker huh
| |
The BMTH effect has claimed another victim
| |
Too bad they couldn't have been peripherized instead
| |
“What the fuck steven”
this one is nice music
| |
“song's not good but what the hell is up with the vocal production on all these new singles? sam sounds so.. off”
The production is really fucking weird. I’m not sure what it is.
| |
steven what the fuck steven
| |
i will never change
| |
If there's anything I'll give these new songs, they're much less terrible than whatever the fuck ADTR is doing these days.
"Three Days Grace with an orchestra" lmaooo
| |
@JayEnder bringing the beef ahahah :D man i have NO IDEA! is "you're welcome" intended as "you should all be thankful we're making music"
| |
Brick Wall officially cemented them as an ass tier band.
And yeah, such a pretentious album title sheesh. Jesper's soundoff had me rollin haha
| |
ahaha i mean... there's still like 16 songs so maybe they'll be better.
idk i mean they always had this pretentious attitude. first the feud with Victory i mean they were right but it lasted 5 years and they were so bitter about it. like they're always subtly hinting at being angry at someone but we're not required to know who exactly
| |
The evolution to BMTH butt rock is now complete
| |
"ahaha i mean... there's still like 16 songs so maybe they'll be better."
Yeeeah that's true. I'll give them the benefit of the doubt considering they used to be my favorite band :[ expectations are very low tho. And the whole Victory situation was just a joke all around.
| |
It’s be cool if they just did an entire album like “the seventh circle.” Thats the dream.
| |
It's pretty interesting how BMTH seem to be a step ahead of the genre, and that so many bands seem to be a year or two behind. Whether it's a good thing or bad, they seem to be prominent trend setters.
This song is pretty boring...
| |
band hasnt been good since hollow crown.
| |
You mean "the seventh sex tease" that track slaps and is just awkwardly shoved into Holy heck
| |
Very forgettable track
| |
"ur mum is forgettable cunt"
Imagine self identifying with this weak shit this much.
| |
This shit is so boring.
| |
sleepwalking-core
| |
it's better than the first two, but still not very good, also not surprising that r/metalcore suck this off and say it's amazing
| |
wow, this is fuckin horrible lol
| |
Yikes. These guys might be in serious trouble without Tom Searle.
| |
@milliondead
dude im fucking joking relax
| |
Best song out of these three.
| |
Sooo theres 3 features on the new record 1 with Winston McCall of Parkway drive, 1 with Mike Kerr and one with Simon Neil.
| |
@sputniksweetheart
You might want to edit the album title "For Those "That" Wish to Exist", not "Who", bud.
| |
where's big pleb at
| |
oh he'll be here
| |
song is bland af. i cant see this album being redeemed. a hard 2.5 if i ever heard one, judging from what we've heard so far
| |
Gonzo has entered the chat.
| |
When you have Josh Middleton and you don’t let him riff, idk what the hell is going on.
If this makes them more money so Josh can do more Sylosis, this can be a good thing.
| |
"ur mum is forgettable cunt"
Spec I will kiss you my friend come here
| |
Fucking digging the shit out of this, loving the lush production tbqh
| |
production is so so clean, solid track
| |
This has way too many comments for how boring it is.
| |
"You might want to edit the album title "For Those "That" Wish to Exist", not "Who", bud."
ignore this chud and edit it to "For Those Whomst'd've Wished to Exist" like it belongs
| |
Tip of the fedora to you, potsy
| |
it's actually For Ye Whomst'd've Doth Willeth to Exist
| |
I'd edit it to that right now but after "Holy Heck" and "For Those Whomst'd've Wished to Exist" I'm afraid the mods might be running low on patience for my Architects edits
Thoughts Sowing? Jom?
| |
Might be one of the cringiest songs they've ever released.
| |
Incoming 1 from Shadow hahaha
| |
Wait till this man hears Little Wonder lmao
| |
Oh god yeah, that one is offensively bad lol. They should have scrapped it entirely.
Sam's vocals are so weirdly produced on the new one I can't get over it
| |
Give up already
| |
Don't have high hopes for the album. 'Animals' has been the best pre-release track so far and it's like B-tier Architects song at best.
| |
Remember when this band was aping Ion Dissonance and Dillinger?
| |
I'll even be generous and say some of the material on these singles sounds just fine on its own, but I can't imagine listening to a whole album of this, let alone knowing what great peaks these guys are actually capable of hitting.
| |
The songs had some moments, but didn't work well as a whole imo
| |
Little Wonders is a disaster wtf were they thinking with that one? Album is completely forgettable. This is one of the better songs imo.
| |
^ album leak or something?
| |
yea it leaked yesterday lol
| |
lol, nice. or not, if its bad.
| |
This is fucking awful lol
| |
Its not bad, just boring as fuck.
The two heavy songs Discourse Is Dead and Impermanence are the only worthwhile ones on first listen. Closer is also good. Really touching song honestly
| |
And the closer doesnt have thw weird effects they sprinkled over sams singing. Although when the unclean vocals show up there is a bit of variation to them, a few lows. But thats about all the good i can say about the record really.
| |
odd album in their discog for him to actually vary his screaming a bit. not really complaining as for me thats really the only thing the new one has going for it, but it woulda been nice for those to have surfaced on their better albums
| |
Yea its really odd also i think Josh from Sylosis does some backing screams as well.
| |
It’s a no for me dawg
| |
Been listening to this a lot the past couple of days
I MUST HAVE LOST MYSELF
LOST MYSELF
LOST MYSEEEEEEEELF
| |
Sad to say this has grown on me, the pre chorus low key slaps
| |
Honestly yeah, this one ain't too shabby.
I like how Sam sings THE FLOWER THAT NEVER BLOSSOMS IS QUICKLY FORGOTTEN
| |
Listened to this a couple of time and the only thing I remember liking was the gooooodBYYYEEEEEE part which was actually pretty catchy.
| |
because this song is actually dope
| |
Unlike about 11 other tracks on the new record....although one pro i can give the new record is a lack of the phoned in bleghs that wae nice
| |
