Possibly the best Erra song ever. I love everything about it. Slays hard.
| |
dude woah, this goes hard af bro,,!!!
long live dgent!!!
| |
heavy song for erra, love it! feeling some Tool vibes in that riff at 1:50
| |
damn that was great! nice high screm and that ending is massive
| |
Rips.
| |
1:50 Tool entered the chat.
| |
Damn that riffage at 1:50 and verse that follows is sick
| |
Yeah, def loved the Tool riff. I liked this a lot, but not more than the last 2.
This is shaping up to be a legit record though. Loving the return of the heavy
| |
Glad they’re changing up their sound a bit cause Neon was extremely stale
| |
@Steak where you at
| |
Yea steak should have 10 comments here already. What’s goin on?
| |
Yeah i loved this. Nice proggy heavy jam. New album should be zesty mordant
| |
dude i think this blows lmao
| |
tempos too fast and slow at the same time, jt is in the fucking way every time lmao, guitars sound like monolith sped up, idk man this is fuckin trash compared to alpha seed or warrior
| |
^ bad take
| |
lol yeah awful take jesus
| |
I'm getting crazy Tool architects and Intronaut vibes from this. fucking sick.
| |
dude im out on new erra at this point. damn kinda sucks but i just cant get into jt and jesse as a combo. they dont feel like they groove with each other. also this is way more alt rock-y, no?
| |
nah, you just dont get it man. this is, like, progressive n stuff
| |
havent listened to much Erra since Augment but this is pretty slick.
| |
Song is cool. I'd like an album announcement as some fucking point though lol.
| |
you know what it is man? theres no magic anymore. and maybe thats bc alan is gone. im talking about them chills you get just from the songwriting like in alpha seed.. erra used to be unpredictable.
oh jt's screaming at the same tempo as every other song in the past 2 LPs? cool
| |
3/5
| |
this song will be even better in the context of the album probably
| |
Never liked this band for a long time but they put out two killer songs.
| |
Never liked these guys but this is decent. Probably will never listen again though.
| |
i guess jt j gonna be a barrier for some and hes not amazing here but the everything else is strong enough to make up for it imo. guitar work is def more interesting than just monolith sped up
"I'd like an album announcement as some fucking point though lol" [2]
| |
I hated having to see these guys live 3 times. I hated it! But these last two songs aren’t bad.
| |
why? were they bad live?
| |
Same tier, really.
| |
Sounds like an Erra song making machine, Architects Doomsday riff? check! Short first verse into chorus? check! Br00tal chugz? check! Big BRE4KD0WN after second chorus? Check! Copypasta but that is all "progressive" metalcore is nowadays
| |
^^^ thank you lol
| |
shit song, shit band
| |
I don't even like ERRA, and this song fucking slaps. Went back to listen to their first single with their new label, Snowblood, and it slaps, too. I think this new album might be right up my alley.
| |
whenever jt tries to sound brutal i just lol
| |
That’s how I react when a lot of these types of bands try and sound extra brutal. These guys are fine just not for me.
| |
The lyrics these guys write are getting weaker and weaker each release.
No, JT, I will not burn it down and it will not destroy me.
| |
It's not Snowblood-level awesome but I love hearing them fuck with their formula here. And that heavy ass bridge section at 2:40 destroys. I think they're trying to promise some variety on the new album with this tune and I'm here for it
| |
this already grew off me, JT's screams bore me to tears
| |
Song fuckin slapped. Good variety of parts of gimmicks pulled off on this one. Production sounds great too.
Harsh vocalist sounds like he's gargling pop rocks though
| |
Not bad, will probably check the full record... the Tool riff is pretty cool yeah
| |
I will say the production is pretty good. The rest I’m not too into.
| |
very eh, worst of the 3 theyve put out
| |
Harsh vocalist sounds like he's gargling pop rocks though [2]
one of the funniest ways ive heard jt complaints framed haha
| |
band is br00tal n epic!!!!
| |
we get it dude you hate djent nerds
| |
I don't know why, but "Alabama metalcore" cracked me up.
| |
JT sounds great on this and the other two singles they put out. He's actually showing some range and I like his cleans that are sprinkled throughout here.
| |
Steakbyrnes confirmed dead
| |
Big RIP
| |
Lol for real though, should we be concerned?
| |
By far the best song l have heard from these guys
| |
Gotta love these nit picking pr1cks here judging works of art and putting down greatness. Gtfo
| |
Yikes.
| |
"Steakbyrnes confirmed dead"
lmao but seriously where is this kid. He's like a bloodhound when it comes to this shit
| |
Everyone shoutbox homie make sure he's above ground.
| |
"Gotta love these nit picking pr1cks here judging works of art and putting down greatness. Gtfo"
Someone is mad, cry more it's pretty funny
| |
Damn Tundra, why you gotta do him like that?Just chill out and jam some Erra riffz!
| |
Steak not in one of these threads for once, hallelujah even though hes literally going to comment a couple hours from now, guaranteed, Steak Erra quote tape: "I miss old Ewwa Sadge, Augment is the bwest album of all timezz!!! New Ewwa is getting better", there, you already know his thoughts now
| |
fat dick erra with a fat dick jam. what else is new?
| |
Brothers I am here, this song slapped and I'm hype for the new album whenever they decide to release it lol. Loving the heavy shit they've been bringing past couple singles, and man does Jesse sound good here. JT sounds like he actually gives a fuck about his vocals now too which is good to hear.
Stay mad Tundra you fake ass hoe bitch I'm here
| |
How dare you have a life outside of Sput.
| |
kekekek stay mad kekekek
| |
Oh, good, Steakums is here
We were all very worried
| |
:]
| |
He lives
| |
The obscure 90s vibe of the vid doesn't really synch with the super pristine and tropey metalcore underneath. Would be better suited to a gross metal or noise rock project. These guys are awesome players though, saw em live once. Don't really like their music.
| |
Whoof, thank goodness. Can't lose any of my m3tal brethren here. Stay safe and headbang wisely
| |
"1:50 Tool entered the chat." exactly what I was thinking.
It's pretty good but just feels like another erra song to me. They haven't had a truly great album in 7 years
| |
just listened to Snowblood, that was more exciting imo. Could be a sick album if they keep pulling out some more new tricks
| |
New album gonna slap cheeks harder than anything post Augment
| |
He lives [2] Steak you had us worried
| |
I feel the love brothers
| |
not terrible. i'd probably like this more if the production was more abrasive. this ultra-clean production just does nothing for me
| |
Song is pretty awesome, but JT just does not do it for me. This band needs someone more like Garrison or even Ian
| |
im saying Jay. He's probably my least favorite vocalist in the entire genre
| |
STEAK GOOD. ME LIKEY
| |
lol
| |
He lives [3]
..nice
| |
@jay completely agree. JT in TIJ was actually good, I don't know why he doesn't work for erra. maybe i need to feel the lows from Garrison or Ian to feel like its Erra.
| |
JT is a horrible fit yes agreed, but he's been doing way better lately
| |
Don’t get the JT hate. I agree he was better in TiJ but I like him just fine in Erra too
| |
i obv get it bc hes a haaaaard downgrade but at least these songs are good enough i can look past it more than ive ever been able to, plus he is improving
| |
He suffers from the same kinda situation as Marcus with Northlane. It's not that he's actually THAT bad, it's just that he's such a massive step down compared to who he replaced that it's hard to not notice it.
Adrian >>>>>>>>>>>>> Marcus
Garrison >>>>>>>>>>>>> JT
| |
I think the Adrian to Marcus drop off is massive though lol. And I like Marcus.
This not as much. JT is fine by me
| |
Garrison was my favorite harsh vocalist ever man, nothing will compare for me
| |
yeah JT does a fine job, really not that big a factor here
| |
@steak damn boi ever???? Idk that he would even make my top 5
| |
Yea man, he just checked all the boxes and more for me! Dude was an absolute animal and I loved his vocals
| |
Just started listening to Erra and what perfect timing. I got a buddy who absolutely adores them.
| |
Hell yea Feather my man, get on Augment and Impulse immediately
| |
Augment is what my buddy forced me to check out and I dug it, will check Impulse next. I don't mean this negatively, but this feels like the more mature continuation of the shit scene/warped groups like AA! and OM&M were doing back in 2009 and 2010. I mean that in the nicest way possible.
| |
This song is somewhat promising other than the terrible lyrics. I definitely fell off this band after Neon released
| |
Moments of Clarity EP is probably my favourite Erra
| |

this is an excellent point. going from a porsche to a lexus isn't the worst thing... but dude you had a porsche lol
This song is somewhat promising other than the terrible lyrics. I definitely fell off this band after Neon released [2]
honestly, i used to jam drift a lot. i like the opener and a couple tracks on neon, but agreed, my interest decreases with every song i hear JT being not garrison on lol
Moments of Clarity EP is probably my favourite Erra [2]
the lyrics on that EP... hit home. very positive and growth minded. me likey
| |
At least JT added one high fry type scream on this but he desperately needs to vary it up.
| |
This new Erra album might be the first metalcore album in a long time I'm actually excited to hear
| |
Me and bloc will be jammin it in the whip
| |
I gotta go buy a whip to join you guys I suppose.
| |
Ooh kinky
| |
It appears I blue myself!
| |
lol
Nice on the AD quote
| |
"this feels like the more mature continuation of the shit scene/warped groups like AA! and OM&M were doing back in 2009 and 2010. I mean that in the nicest way possible."
accurate
| |
I don't hear it
| |
Me either
| |
i think i get the comparison. only bc i listened to AA! and OM&M (and still do occassionally..) back then
| |
Looking forward to seeing a guitar playthrough of this
| |
"i think i get the comparison. only bc i listened to AA! and OM&M (and still do occassionally..) back then"
Moment hit it on the head. I am new to Erra and not huge into this style of music, but I was really into the whole AA OM&M sound years ago, so this is striking a chord there for me.
| |
Those two bands were some of the best in their class too. Same goes for Erra.
| |
I was super into those bands in high school too but I'm not hearing it lol, it's not a bad thing tho. I am glad you're diggin them Feather :]
| |
imagine this... you dont listen to 'heavy' stuff (with screaming)
any song with screaming/singing combo and heavy guitars is going to feel like 'that sound' to you
| |
His vocals sound better on here for sure but the last album I listened to, Drift, he wasn't a step down. He was awful and basically ruined the album (imo). Never did listen to Neon, not sure if better.
| |
Neon didn’t really stick with me, but this slaps.
| |
honestly, i enjoy drift. it felt close enough to the Erra I loved on the MOC EP and Augment, just newer. especially the first couple tracks including Skyline where they tried to mix it up.
Aside from the opener, Neon really felt like a hot mess and i havent listened since
these new songs are better for sure, but its not the same meaty erra i used to love, its more proggy with honestly less inspiring/positively spiritual lyrics
| |
legitimately shocked at how good this is
| |
