These guys are good at the music.
| |
Karl sounds good
| |
good [3]
| |
Am I alone in thinking that was kinda boring?
| |
Fuck, that owned
| |
I loved it, but I knew I would. Anyone that thinks Karl is better than Jesse is a wiener
| |
Yeah that was not boring. I dug. Drums sound goooooood
| |
“Anyone that thinks Karl is better than Jesse is a wiener”
Jesse sounds exactly like Karl now so it really doesn’t matter which vocalist they have
Song was a bit too one note, hope the rest go more places
| |
This song is tits.... Definitely owned !!! 🤘🤘🔥🔥
| |
Song is okay. Definitely liked Tempest more
| |
This is good but it definitely seems like Misery Signals are moving in the same direction a lot of modern core acts are moving towards.
More dense, more chugs, more jarring albeit pleasant atmospheric sections.
Its good but Misery Signals is definitely at their best with their more melodic side imo
| |
it sounds like their last two records into one track lol
lot of Controller techniques here talmbout they’re like the stuff they influenced
| |
"Anyone that thinks Karl is better than Jesse is a wiener"
*looks around the room*
*whispers in your ear*
Karl IS better tho
*runs out the room*
| |
Song is awesome. Jesse sounds great and the Morgan brothers are bringing the goods.
However, I do hope the album has some of the more unorthodox, melodic sections with w/ Karl's spoken word that Malice had.
| |
Both songs aren’t very good. Gonna be the most overrated album of 2020 I’m callling it now.
| |
just because you don't like it doesn't mean its overrated
song rules
| |
It was fine, but didn't blow me away
| |
pretty cool song, need to relisten to the first one
| |
“"Anyone that thinks Karl is better than Jesse is a wiener"

Dude if you think Jesse is doing something amazing here that Karl never did you’re deluding yourself lol
They sound nearly identical, Jesse very subtly slips into a slightly higher register a couple of times but it’s barely noticeable
| |
lol why did you quote me?
| |
Cause the “which vocalist is better argument” is pretty silly when they sound almost exactly the same
| |
Pretty good, Tempest is better.
| |
[2] needs more of those sweet melodic leads that tempest had
| |
Another pretty boring track. That's a bummer.
| |
really stoked for this record. Singles sound so much better than any other metalcore band nowadays. Will most probably the mc record of the year. jesse sounds brutal in the best way possible and instrumentally it's just as good as ever.
| |
meh
| |
I wish the rest of the song was as atmospheric as that intro
| |
Tempest was much better
| |
man if I still rated albums this would be my second 1 of the year along with enter shikari
| |
I'm so excited for this record! might be my most anticipated record of the summer
| |
I was hyped, but Jesse seems almost as monotone as Karl did, and the instrumentals are the most boring I ever recall them being. I'm expecting mediocrity at this point.
| |
Misery signals always seem to drown the best parts about them (heaviness +melodic, atmosphere) in bland metalcore cliches. And unfortunately, they are still doing that.
| |
Okay song.
| |
Love it.
| |
Can we please put the "Digging a grave in the woods" music video trope to death?
| |
[2]
| |
Album gonna be 2.6/5.
| |
"Can we please put the "Digging a grave in the woods" music video trope to death?"
Don't forget white woman in white dress running in the woods
| |
I lol'd at that one guy who said "everyone knows a square tip shovel is the wrong tool for the job"
| |
lmao he ain't wrong
| |
What a terrible, generic song.
Fuck lets face it, they have one good album under their belts and the rest is just same old, same old.
| |
Why no more Karl?
| |
daamn, I feel bad for anyone that finds Mis Sigs to be generic. what a take.
| |
As far as these singles go I think that's a pretty fair take.
| |
eh, for the first single an argument can be made. but even so, really only generic in the context of the band, not metalcore in general imo. this one i don't see it at all though.
| |
I really dig the post rocky intro, hope there’s more of that on the album
| |

This
| |
Musically loved it vocally got boring quick for me
| |
This song is no way near as good as the first one they put out. A little worried about the album now. I mean, they're never going to recapture Malice, even with the original lineup. Specific circumstances and emotions allowed for the creation of that album. I still miss the bass tone they had from Malice as well. That set them apart from a lot of the other bands in the genre. This song was pretty generic.
| |

Agree with this 100%. Still absolutely stoked for the album.
| |
First two albums are cool. Their last two didn't have much impact on me. These new singles don't seem very promising.
| |
what Wizard said
| |
Jesus, Wizard, you’re still here bro? God damn, man, how are ya? And yeah, these two singles are trash.
| |
lol fuckin Wiz from the top rope
| |
I just hope that this isn't extremely indicative of the rest of the album. It's a decent song and I think it could make more sense next to some other tracks on the album, but really I just want something that's in between Of Malice and Mirrors. I fucking LOVE the uplifting and emotional, yet technical nature of that album. This reminds me a bit of Controller meets Absent Light, and in hindsight they are the albums I like the least from Misery Signals. Absent Light had that awful clicky bass drum that bothers me a lot though, and Controller had that production value that I thought was SO good when it came out, but now I feel like it lacks some dynamics.
Liked The Tempest a lot more too, but I like how good Jesse sounds here. I always liked Jesse from an emotional delivery-standpoint, but Karl just SOUNDED so good. Now Jesse has pulled the best from himself and Karl basically, so I don't miss Karl as much as I thought I would.
| |
Jesse sounds so huge. Love the post metal and Of Malice vibes on this.

The legendary triple post. I've only heard about it in fables until now
| |
"Jesse sounds so huge. Love the post metal and Of Malice vibes on this."
What about this reminds you of Of Malice? This whole song screams Absent Light to me.
| |
Yea both songs are very Absent Light era
| |
I could be talking shit, but these two new songs are already better than anything I've heard from AL
| |
bloc jam Luminary rn
| |
I initially wrote it off as cracker shit, but I'll give it another shot
| |
Hmm, good song actually
| |
Luminary is the truth
| |
Everything Will Rust >
| |
^also true
| |
That intro guitar never fails to make me rock solid
| |
Hey now, language please
| |
There are a bunch of bangers on AL bros
| |
A glimmer of hope is better. Brings the feels
| |
these new songs remind me more of of malice than absent light
more straightforward and emotion-driven than technical and atmospheric imo, notwithstanding the intro to this song
| |
Where the fuck is Karl? Why’d they bring this bum back. He sounds like he’s doing a Karl impression but doesn’t really have the power of Karl’s voice.
| |
I wouldnt say Jesse sucks at all. He's great, but that part about him not having the power of Karls voice is why its so easy to distinguish the two from each other.
| |
nah Jesse live is as powerful
but then again lot of you guys won’t know now lol
| |
Yea but even then he doesnt sound like Karl, which is why I dont get how people say they sound exactly alike.
| |
sure but you didn’t say that at first
| |
"nah Jesse live is as powerful"
He must have had an extra large O2 tank by his side
| |
no sir check the malice x vids
| |
The tank was wireless, trust me bro
| |
Why the Jesse slander? I know Karl is a legend, but come on guys. Jesse sounds more refined than ever
| |
But what does he know
about sacrifice
| |
True
He also hasn't carried the weight of the world strapped on his back
| |
Has Jesse even torched a field
| |
Or prayed for rain?
| |
Do his fears ring true?
| |

Holy fuck lol
