Ichiko Aoba x Zelda

2019-09-08 by Hugh G. Puddles STAFF | 18 Comments
Folk singer-songwriter Ichiko Aoba has been featured in the TV commercial for the upcoming release in the Zelda series, The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening. Scored with her prominent, ethereal vocals, the trailer evokes the dreamlike qualities of the game's setting, Koholint Island.

Aoba is no stranger to multimedia tie-ins, starring in the 2017 anime short film Blade Runner: Black Out 2022 and having composed and performed for various theatre productions. Her 2018 album qp was released to critical acclaim and was supported by an international tour.

Link's Awakening is out September 20th on Nintendo Switch.

I've been exploring her discography since I saw this article last night. I'd never heard of her before then. It's been a long, long time since I've been so immediately and overwhelmingly infatuated with a newly discovered artist. Seriously, what gorgeous music. Thanks sput!
