better than most of Neon at least
| |
This song slaps huge dick, best song they've released since Augment
| |
fucking stellar
| |
Dece song
| |
JT finally showing some range. Definitely more interesting than anything I've heard from them since Augment.
| |
New tool is better
| |
Blows everything from Neon and 1/2 of Drift out of the water
| |
More like blows amirite
| |
Do you guys think the production is similar to Neon? I cant quite tell because I heard on my shitty phone speaker lol, at the start with the flurry of guitars and drums it sounded pretty damn messy, but it got better as it went on, first impression, yep, Neon sounds sooo vapid compared to this, that melodic solo is what I wanted more of from Neon, ide give the song a 3.8/5 on first listen
| |
I quite enjoyed this.
| |
Guess they finally made something worthwhile? Will check later!
| |
yeah this song is excellent, one of their best tracks imo
| |
I feel like the guitar with the delay in the background is kind of overdone at this point since it's in every song on Neon, honestly, I feel like it's kind of a cheap way to create atmosphere, they didnt do any of this in Augment or even Drift for that matter, weird how just a guitar delay in the background can waine down on my enjoyment of the song overall
| |
Also, why the hell did they take the harp out of their music, it was such a good addition, bad decision imo
| |
Yeah, this is a banger.
| |
Pretty damn good song. I liked Neon enough, and Drift id my favorite album of theirs, but this is super well crafted. Good to hear JT with some more range.
| |
Definitely their best work since JT joined.
| |
Finally, Erra is back.
| |
Best ERRA song since Augment fosho.
| |
Enjoyed it but sounds a it was recorded with a potato.
| |
Dang, this actually slaps
| |
The mix is a little sloppy but at least it isn't completely lacking in impact or character like their past few releases.
| |
The verses actually sound a lot more like Texas In July, but man, do the toms sound annoying as heck...
| |
I need to start saying "waine down", I love that.
| |
Lol I didn't really notice the toms until I read that comment. They're pretty damn terrible.
| |
Dang good songs reminds me of when you make a really nice pancake with some NICE hashbrowns but no egg cause that’s whack
| |
Hey look at that Jesse ruins another song with awful cleans 🙄
| |
cool, now lets see if they carry this over to the next album
| |
I don't mind Jesse's vocals as long as he doesn't sore sky high almost above his range
| |
Man they need a new guy to do their mixing, GET NOLLY!! the mixes on Neon and this song are awful and I dont know why more people aren't complaining about it
| |
This is a new producer for them. It's the August Burns Red people I think?
| |
I'm staggered by how much it sounds like Neon then, there is only subtle differences, but the mixes are virtually identical...
| |
Yeah, could be the ABR people, but it does sound a little too produced for them @dangerous
| |
They need to go back to Brian Hood for production
| |
I'm just happy they sound like themselves again. Production does leave a lot to be desired... Impulse and Augment had so much punch.
| |
I think it's so weird that as a band, you can release an album with a mix that sounds as good as Augment's does, and then feel okay releasing new material that sounds SO MUCH worse than that. Like... You had it, what are you doing?
Tons of bands do it, they'll put out an album that has a great mix and then release albums that sound like absolute ass later down the line. Boggles my damn mind.
| |
Augment's production is fucking phenomenal
| |
Seems like it only requires some technical riffs on top of your generic metalcore to be considered "progressive" on sputnik these days.
| |
"it's so weird that as a band, you can release an album with a mix that sounds as good as Augment's does, and then feel okay releasing new material that sounds SO MUCH worse than that."
Yup. The Neon/Drift mixes sound so mediocre and the guitars lack that beefy powerful punch that the albums that came before had. Erra songs used to hit you right in the chest like a barefist Tyson punch, but now they hit like those fake ass Hulk gloves.
| |
Hell yeah agreed with Jay.
Absolutely digging this track man. Those electronic synths are so fresh and JT sounds completely badass!!
| |
Honestly, this mix seems like it would be a mix of a demo of an Augment or Impulse mix, so unpolished, so unlike the cleanliness of Augment and Impulse (I'm gonna keep criticising this until they improve their fucking mixing...)
| |
So what you are trying to say, is if the mixing was good, you'd like the song. Gothca!
| |
"Seems like it only requires some technical riffs on top of your generic metalcore to be considered "progressive" on sputnik these days."
go jerk off to calculating infinity
| |
This is a banger. I want some more The Ghost Atlas too.
| |
Yes brother more Ghost Atlas is a must
