does that mean they’ll finally fucking play it live
|
| |
i think i saw you in my sleep, DARRRLING
yeah, no, i wouldn't count on it.
|
| |
thats cool and all but is this really news worthy?
|
| |
Sooo does this mean no new LP this year? Butts.
Saw them posting updates a while back from in-studio and if that was a lead-up to this imma be a sad boi :c
|
| |
Yeah I'm confused, that LP has been done for some time now. Everyone has been expecting a fall release. Weird.
@flug no not really but it's been a slow news day so hey
|
| |
darius you disappoint me
|
| |
its all predictable metal/BM albums. Also Darius I tend to find that people who hate their first couple albums might not hate Rooms of the House, probably not your thing but could potentially change your opinion
|
| |
it's more mellow and not nearly as whiny and annoying as some of their early stuff. It's the only thing I really still listen to from them
|
| |
Still the only album I dig from these guys so I'll have to give this a shot when it comes out.
|
| |
From what I read, they didn't do any new performances for this one, they just remastered the songs to get them sounding how they'd like them to sound now. Hopefully that means we'll get an album at some point this year or early next year, who knows?
|
| |
New artwork is not as good
|
| |
song sounds exactly the original. artwork is fucking garbage. new LD is basically mumble rap with actual instruments. moving on
|
| |
I'm quite certain it sounds better (or at least different).
|
| |
definitely sounds different.
no 10 year anniversary tour it seems :/
|
| |
"The album was originally self-produced, but the new version features re-amped guitars by Will Yip (who also produced 2014’s Rooms of the House and is producing the upcoming La Dispute album), a new mix by Dave Schiffman (who’s worked with PUP, Thrice, Alanis Morissette, and more), and remastering by Emily Lazar. The first taste of this new version is “The Castle Builders,” and you can really hear a difference compared to the original sound of Somewhere at the Bottom. The mix sounds more spacious, and the guitars sound cleaner and warmer, much closer to the vibe of Rooms of the House than to the crunchy sound of Somewhere at the Bottom" - brooklynvegan
|
| |
and LP 4 is still on the way
|
| |
" Also Darius I tend to find that people who hate their first couple albums might not hate Rooms of the House, probably not your thing but could potentially change your opinion"
Yeah not a big fan of their debut but I love RotH
|
| |
Also Here, Hear III is their best thing ever
|
| |
Rooms is so boring bro. So boring. Can’t even touch the 2 that came before it.
|
| |
There's actually a lot of good stuff going on there. Instrumentally, lyrically, and production. You just have to be in the mood for it, which is clearly a different mood than their first 2 would require. Woman (reading) and Woman (mirror) are some of the best tracks they've ever written. And if you still want something loud and upbeat, there's Hudsonville and Stay Happy There
|
| |
i don't know how i feel about the production on the castle builders redo.
might just be that i listened to the old one too much?
|
| |
I knew these cowards wouldn't do an anniversary tour for this album
|
| |
should be interesting
|
| |
album belongs in the bottom of a river LOL
|
| |
Every instrument definitely sounds more impactful, but I feel that there is too much bass in the mix.
|
| |
“does that mean they’ll finally fucking play it live”
Where were you in 2008?
|
| |
This sounds like hot garbage. It’s the same god awful bass heavy, muddied mix that just about ruined wildlife. Idk what they were thinking here.
This band has been dead to me since they opened for thrice with all the energy of a turtle jerking off. And this is coming from someone who used to go apeshit for LD shows.
Rooms is boring trash too. Whoever equated LD now to mumble rap with instruments is pretty much spot on. What a disappointment this band became.
|
| |
the amount of stupidity in that comment is nuts
|
| |
"Whoever equated LD now to mumble rap with instruments is pretty much spot on."
what kind of bullshit unintelligible dribble
|
| |
sorta blows my mind that the same guy wrote "i think i saw you in my sleep, DARRRLING" and King Park/I See Everything
|
| |
Let's see if the new version moves up from a 1 to a 1.5
|
| |
They’re no Black Malachite.
|
| |
"Let's see if the new version moves up from a 1 to a 1.5"

lmfaoooo
|
| |
oof
|
| |
@comatorium, spot on.
|
| |
"5's multiple Black Veil Brides albums"
Dude; I get you're trying to be cool, but come on, you've been on here since 2014, you know what I'm about.
|
| |
been here for 4 years and only 62 comments?? odd
|
| |
I've been here since 2009. My love for BVB's been pretty apparent since people started knowing who I was in 2011.
|
| |
literally no one cares go listen to butt rock and fly into the sun
|
| |
Holy shit, this mix is awful. Such a damn shame, this band used to my favourite but every release since Somewhere at the Bottom has been losing energy. I've seen them a few times over the last decade and it's been the same decline there... such a disappointment for me.
|
| |
"been here for 4 years and only 62 comments?? odd"
I'm more of a browser than a commenter on here, I post the odd news/review/comment, but I mainly just read and rate stuff haha
|
| |
@coja: I mean, if you didn't care you wouldn't have commented.
